I have noticed that no one, well a few, actually post in uo forums. Now I know for sure that there is atleast 5000 more ppl i see every day on chessy, but i only see like 10-20 ppl here. whats up with that? We would become a stronger, and a much closer shard if we would communicate more. now, i have tried two different guilds so far sence i have moved to chessy from lake sup. Now once again, im trying a new one, I give up on the "only" guilds. I first tried only spellweavers, that didnt work. then i tried only mages, that started to work, until it came to only 4 or 5 of us ever on. So now i have became a guild like all the others. It doesnt matter what kind of character you are, its just that you play all the time, and your skills are high enough. sad to say, but what the hell makes me different than any other guild. its very dissapointing, and it might even anger me a lil bit. I think i make a good guild leader. I had an aweseom party set up for halloween, with very nice prizes for winners ( over 10 mil in prizes) and just fun. But it seems that every one is to busy doing something else in the game, then to actually take a break and have some fun. then i daily check these forums to find that no one ever posts....and the ones that do, are the same few that posts daily.
It just really makes me sad...to see all these ppl on a daily basis, on chessy, but yet, only a small select few are here, in uo forums. i have gone to alot of diff forums,and its the same way. Then you have guild like x... no offence to you x members, becuase i like a lot of you, and think yoru decent ppl, but when it comes to a shard....you own all the preices, and your the richest players on the shard.....its just sad...we are a community....not a government!!!! I just dont understand what uo is becoming?? Im really hoping this Kingdom Reborn, is gonna help!!!!

I agree! Not that I'm on cheasepeake but it should go for all shards.

I somewhat agree w/ some of your points but a guild is not defined by the "only" title. I would suggest trying to try a lot more role playing. In the guild I am in (RBG) we have some real characters who really get into it. One guildie had actual tasks to complete that were fun and he would continue his story and we would hear him on teamspeak. We have also created an off shoot guild for people who want to try PvP so we are having a friendly war w/ another guild. As long as you have people who are imaginative and willing to role play then your guild should thrive. As for X, -E-, etc. having everything...well let's just say not everything is legit...lol...and leave it at that. Also, I have talked to people who have chraccter sin the guild but have made other ones for tram since raiding spawns and fighting gets borign after a while for a lot of them. Let's see when punkbuster somes out how many of teir members will be on the shard...hehehehe....I wish you luck in recruiting. The Halloween event you planned sounds great. If you are patient your guild will grow as long as you have good members and do not rely on the game to have fun. I look forward to seeing your guild int he top 10 in Chessy soon enough.

It is a matter of quality and not quantity when I play UO.

I belong to a guild of only a few members (6). We do things like throw parties and events on a regular basis. We solicite and receive help from others in the community when we need assistance. We invite the whole community of Sonoma to participate and plan for around 40 people. If only a few 'community folks' show up thats just fine with us because we still have a blast. So, not to worry about how many 'community folks' attend the functions ... just plan it where you and your close friends willl have fun .. the rest will join in when they 'hear' about all the fun going on when you (your guild) does something.

As for posting here on the forums, you're right we don't have the quantity of members that some others may have, but we certainly have the quality of posters that our community wants. Sometimes, there just isn't a lot to talk about on the shard forum (at least for Sonoma because we are a tiny population).

Again, invite your friends to participate here on the UOForums community, and keep at it with your 'fun' times for you, your friends and your home shard.

Word of mouth is the best promotional tool

All of your replys had made me feel so much better. I understand that getting a guild together takes a while, and alot of work. My favorite was the mages only guild. It started out awesome, I had about 30 members in the beginning, but soon it came down to 4 or 5 of us on. It was nice, becuase i got to become good friends with a few ppl, and being kinda new to the shard, helps. But I just watned to say, thank you every one for your input and advise. Your words of wisdom has touched me, and it helps me not give up so easly. This will be my last guild though. Three strikes and im out...so if this guild dont work, well i guess i will just have to be solo, or a guildie in another guild. But Im not gonna give up just yet. If i can get 30 mages together, Im sure that i can get 30 (who evers) together! Your support really helps though, and i really appreciate it! Thank you so much every one!!!!!

Never quit, and realize sometimes you will get some guildies who are just there for what they get. Groupies who are just dead weight. Sometimes smaller guilds are better, especially if they are quality players like Dip or Eowyna. With their help, there is no spawn or group who we cant beat. We also have alternate characters in larger guilds as well. Good Luck Tyene.

Being a guild master is hard. I like being a gm..even if there is only a small group. I dont require anything..no hunts..no meetings. Just a guild for people to get on and talk. If my guild isnt ever on then so be it but when they are i get to say hi. I am in 3 other guilds on my chars. One of them is SHE where im a council member. If it gets ruff and you decide to just join a diff guild..there are alot of nice ones out there. Ive been playin for long time. Right after tram came out. I been there..If you dont succeed..dont be down on yourself! Any guild would be lucky to have a 'go getter' like you. I know SHE loves events. We have planed a few and your ideas would make any guild happy.

Yeah, you have no reason to give up. My guild, Knights of Shriad, has very few members. I see maybe 4 or 5 people on at one time max. The thing is though that I can trust each of them. Granted 2 of them are friends in real life thats not the point :-P Plus we are all poor so we get along great because we help each other out
