Hey guys, it's me again...the new guy

At any rate, I have stumbled across some Vanquishing weapons as well as some Power weapons. I thought these stopped spawning a long time ago and were considered rare. Well not anymore I supposse. I have quite a collection now and was wondering what the prupose of these weapons are. Are they just for show? Do they deal extra damage vs. ophidians or some other type of creature?

Also, I have stumbled upon Mystic weapons as well. These are brand new as far back as I can remember. I'm clueless. I've heard rumors of using them against ophidian beserkers and doom gauntlet arties have a chance of dropping....that seems nuts to me but if its true then I'm gonan be busy for a while farming!!! :grin: Anywho, if anyone has any information for me hit me up!

These weapons are spawning again due to the Ophidian Invasion.

Yes it is true, they do better damage to the Berserkers. I went in there with a normal set of weapons, mostly used a soulseeker as it leeched everything and helped me stay alive, saw no damage numbers being done, or his life dropping much if any at all. Went back with a Vanq sword, his life started dropping rapidly, still no numbers, but obvious damage was being done. Me and another guy in the guild took on 2 at the same time(not by our choice, 2 just happened to spawn on the same island at the same time and wanted both our blood) with our Vanq weaps. He was an archer so he was able to stand back a bit and not get hit like I was, but we got the job done. I have yet to get a cursed arty, but this is true, the power weapons will give you more damage output on the Zerkers. Mystic will be your best choice as it has the higher DI on them(40%)

The Doom Gauntlet arties are dropping as "Cursed" items. Meaning, cant insure, bless, personal bless or anything. I had gotten a Taskmaster last night, but everyone in my guild was fighting over what Zerk to go after, I died, didnt get rezzed and it got looted. I am now done with that damn invasion. I have lost enough gold, fought with enough griefers, back to goin and doin what I like best. Killin people and bein killed!!

Hmm...cursed arties...that sux but also in a way its awesome. I mean, I don't know about you guys but I ALWAYS lose a ton of money from insurance and things when i go to doom. Atleast this way I can get doom arties without risking the loss of all that gold. Granted they won't be able to be blessed or insured or whatever it's still a good idea...sort of :-P

Yah its not a bad idea for those who arent huge risk takers, and dont have to worry about their gear getting looted. I for one wouldnt dear wear one on the field, as I pvp 99.99% of the time, it just would be stupid for me to wear these. But for someone who just pvm hunts on a daily basis, its fun for them to get a chance to get these items where they normally wouldnt have gotten the chance.
