Looking for a GM Smith

Hi Folks, quick background so you know what I'm talking about. I run a char, Kegan, who only uses GM crafted gear. He is a role-played mercenary working out of Cove.

What I would like is to see if there is anyone who rp's a smith or would like to rp a smith, and who would be willing to do repairs for me, and make gear when needed.

I have a forge set-up at the "Bunk-House", Kegan's bar/HQ (due North of Cove's main gate), so if someone would be interested they could do some smithing there, or I would gladly bring the work to them.

Heck, I'd love to arrange for one night of the week, for 30-60 minutes, to have a Brit Forge repair night or something, I'm sure Kegan would be willing to bring beverages, and swap stories!

Thanks!

Re: Looking for a GM Smith

This is an excellent idea --- and one of the old school of our Realm where people needed to interact personally and up-front to craft and repair armour and weapons.

I hope we have many willing and able smiths on our shard for this sort of adventure today.

I have a legendary crafter, Tailor/Smith/Carp/Tinker/Arms Lore, his name is Grotsnik and he's an orc peon. I would happily go for 30 minutes or so and try and con any people for shiniez!

Re: Looking for a GM Smith

There is a GM Smith, Tinker who resides in Dragon's Watch that would be willing to assist in armor and repairs.

I would love to participate in an old-fashioned repair night at the Britain forge. Let me know when!

Re: Looking for a GM Smith

Thanks for all the replies everyone, I know where PaxOku is so Leland if you wouldn't mind doing some repairs I'd gladly come to you, just let me know when is a good time for you.

I'll look at the calender and try and figure out a slow night of the week, for those that are interested in the "Night at the Forge". Katherine is there any particualr time of day that is better for you?

Again thanks for the responses, I appreciate the help!

I love it! This is the interaction that made UO what is was. The old school hawking of wares, the need for smiths and tinkers and carpenters. Good luck with your plans and post some pics when it comes to fruition!

Re: Looking for a GM Smith

Hi Katherine, 10pm would work great for me also. How does next Friday or Saturday sound ?

Leland, I ran through PaxOku the other day looking for your house. I found it, and unfortunately I found 2 ronin also.....they sure do dismount and kill your mount quick ! I'll be sure to look for you at the times you've specified, but what day do you plan on being your regular repair day ?(I think its great that you are doing that btw).

Merth I'd be happy to post some pics, I spent the first few weeks of my UO life running back and forth from the pass to the forge selling ingots, and I feel sorry for those who did not get to experience that time in UO's history.

Thanks Everyone!

Re: Looking for a GM Smith

I just moved my Elder Smith/GM+ Tailor/GM carp/GM tinker/GM miner over from Oceania today to the Xix Clan's new permanent home on Chessy. Having a bit of trouble due to the bugs from today's patch. Trying to get him set up in our house but the bugs are making life miserable, to say nothing of the Beetles on Drugs (almost all my characters are on beetles right now).

So far, I have my elder warrior (Xix Killmore), my GM+ mage/GM alchy/GM scribe (Magic Xix) and my crafter (Xix Newsmith) moved over. Managed to get enough transfer codes so my other 3 characters will be moved in the next few days and the full Xix Clan will reside on Chessy now. Got an 18x18 custom house at the end of the line of that area between the mountains S of Umbra and have a public forge/anvil set up if anybody in the area needs a quick fire. Once I get up and running, there'll be vendors there too, and I usually sell stuf pretty cheap.

By the end of the weekend Xixette Furfriend (GM fencer, poisoner), Musical Xix (the Bashing Bard) and Xixelle (archer/fletcher...newest member of the Xix Clan) will be available if anybody needs any help with defense or crafting. IF I can get my eyes adjusting to the flickering beetles.
