Amazing Race Leg #2 Results

Thursday nights running of the 2nd leg of the Amazing Race brought Kathleen [Pax], Lissa Eldi [*V*], Lady Sweet Dreams [*V] and Eric the Red [Pax] out for some challenging fun.
Sunday saw Winfield [Pax], Xavier Reed [PaxO] and ValMeer [K^DW] showing up.
The riddle this month was " What did an evil stepmother give to her beautiful stepdaughter to eat casting a sleeping spell on her".
If you brought an "apple" you just missed the correct answer. Kathleen [Pax] and Xavier Reed [PaxO] both brought the correct one an "Enchanted Apple" and got 10 extra points. (Winfield tried to pass off Enchanted Fish)
The contestants where each given a bag of items, with a book that had the first clue. Off they ran after reading the clue, each trying to get to the first checkpoint. This is not a timed race, the correct understanding of the clue gets you to the next point the fastest. Performing the task given by the people you meet along the way (even tho you think you can't do the task) help you get thru the course quicker.
Thursday night winner was Lissa Eldi [*V*] who graciously donated her 100k check back to the race commitee. Second Place and a check for 50k was won by Eric the Red [Pax] and Third place was won by Kathleen [Pax] who took home the 25k check. Lady Sweet Dream [*V*] came in out of the money but still took home points that will accumulate towards the Grand Prize.
Sundays winner was Xavier Reed [PaxO] and he was awarded the 100k check, Second, ValMeer [K^DW] with the 50k check and our own Govenor Winfield [Pax] got a check for 25k for arriving in the money. Next month, Winfield, leave the fishing pole home and we will try and keep the race away from any bodies of water.
Again Phoenix and I would like to congratulate and thank all the participants. And invite everyone out for the next months running of the Amazing Race.

Re: Amazing Race Leg #2 Results

I had an amazing experience in the Amazing Race Leg #2. I found this event to be VERY well constructed and executed.

Oh, I got turned around a couple of times, distracted by at least one fishing hole, and was out of breath most of the time from all the running. I am old.

The clues were not hard; I just had to think broadly about them. They all made sense when completed.

Meeting the race people along the way was truly an experience too. I chatted with a few until they said "Winfield, you're running out of time!" They were kind and helpful, while not offering advantage.

I think anyone who missed the Amazing Race Legs (held twice each month) missed a really great monthly event. They are also designed in less dangerous places and do not require any [specific skill level].

Oh, this is also a good experience for any young or veteran people coming back, since part of this last race, took us through some shard history.

Thank you Phoenix and Nanoc!!

Winfield, Old Man
