This Week's Hunt Nite - Benefit for the Zoo!

This week's Hunt Nite will also be a "fund raiser" for the zoo. I was trying to think of a way to bring together our normal hunt nite fun and raise some funds/points for the zoo and I think I've hit on a way to do it. However, it's going to take every bit of the teamwork and organization that we've gotten pretty good at over the past few months.

Here's my idea and tell me what you think. Our Hunt Nite this week will take place in Destard. Destard is the one dungeon I can think of that has something for everyone!

At the beginning of the evening, we will gather at Yew Gate, Trammel at 8:00 p.m. as usual. Everyone will be given a book with a number in it. Hold onto the books cause you will need them at the end of the nite! But I'll get to that part in a minute.

We will need players from every walk of life. Tamers, warriors, bards, mages, heck yes, even crafters!!! When we get to Yew Gate, we will sort everyone out into groups and assignments. It will go something like this:

Tamers will concentrate on taming as many drakes and dragons as they can.

Mages will be stationed throughout Destard for gates to the zoo, rezzing, healing, fighting or whatever is needed.

Bards will go along with tamers and warriors to peace, provoke, or discord as needed.

Warriors will fight the Shadow Wyrms, Ancient Wyrms, Wyverns, Snakes, etc., pretty much anything EXCEPT Drakes and Dragons are open game!

Crafters with beetles will go along to loot corpses of every possible item (gems, armor, weapons) and resources and sell these to the provisioners.

As each animal is tamed, I will have my tamer, Jessica Nichole, Cat Herder, O*S Guild, stationed at the zoo to collect the animals and turn them in. In addition, I will donate my personal points that I’ve gotten so far.

All gold (from corpses and from selling items) will be collected up and tallied and the total announced to the group at Moonglow Zoo at 11:30 p.m. At that time, I will donate ALL the gold collected to the zoo and draw a number at random. The winning number will pick a "prize" from the prize tier we have reached and I will claim that prize for them.

Now a couple of keys to this. First off, everyone will need to be at the Yew Gate at 8:00 sharp to receive a book with a number for the nite’s drawing. Second, we are going on the honor system. We are counting on the fact that everyone who claims a number participates in the donation process.

Ok, Thoughts???????

Can I donate the drakes and dragons myself? edit: (I mean the ones I tame)
I'm trying to save up points for something special.

Re: This Week's Hunt Nite - Benefit for the Zoo!

Flutter, that's fine with me. The only problem I saw with that was how to make it fair for everyone for the prize drawing. I was thinking it wouldn't be fair for someone to "win" the prize drawing and, at the same time, be collecting their own points toward a reward. Especially since the gold donations are so much lower pointwise than the animal donations. But that's just my thoughts and I might be WAY off base. That's why I posted it tonite, to get some feedback on what everyone thinks and what is the fairest way to go with this.

What do you think about anyone that wants to collect toward their own reward, bows out of the drawing? The point is to get the points up for the zoo and have FUN! It really doesn't matter how we accomplish it.

Oh Oh that's ok that I dont take part in any prize drawing!
I didn't mean to make it sound like I wanted both!
I have just been kinda proud of my own accomplishments at the zoo as it's been something I've been working on since ML started.

I gotta run Lost just started OMG!

NO NO NO honey! I didn't think that at all! OMG! NEVER!!!! I was so scared that was gonna sound wrong when I typed it! I didn't mean that at all!

The question you asked is actually one I had fought with myself about. I didn't know how exactly to address it until you asked and then it came out wrong! I'm soooooo sorry if you thought I meant that!

I think you actually brought up a good question and I just need to know what everyone thinks is the way to go with it is all. Because I'd rather address it now than on Friday nite.

(And yes ma'am LOST IS BACK!!!)

Yeah Eko is awesome.
I wonder what they were doing with the children... the children are "safe now" eh? Hrm...

Anyway back on topic no Anne, I didn't take it in a bad way I didn't even think it was anything but you mentioning in case I wanted to win a bigger prize than that I could earn all by myself. It's all good you know I luv ya.

I think you should take the names of everyone who brings you a pet and or gold to donate that night and at the end of the night just draw a random name for all the points (they get to select a prize in that category). Anyone wanting to work toward their own goals like myself are more than welcome to come participate too. Only problem with that is those that are crafters or mages who are just collecting loot and/or healing fighters or tamers.
Maybe I will just bring my mage and help heal (or maybe my bard can go down and provoke the shadow wyrms) just to save the troubles.

Re: This Week's Hunt Nite - Benefit for the Zoo!

Locke was my favorite character until Mr Eko showed up! And what is the deal with Walt??? OMG! And that big black cloud? Gwen thought at first Eko saw a Shadow Wisp but after the cloud appeared we decided it HAD to be a new monster - A Shadow Sand Vortex!

Flutter, you bring whatever character you want to. Like I said, as long as the zoo gets points and everybody has fun, then the nite will be a success.

Alright, off to get the books and stuff organized. I can feel myself slipping into "Friday FreakOut Mode" a little early this week..............LOL

Re: This Week's Hunt Nite - Benefit for the Zoo!

Yeah. me too. John Locke was my favorite too, until recently. Eko has been a real hit for the show. I have always been impressed with ADEWALE AKINNUOYE-AGBAJE as an actor.....and he is so perfectly cast here!!

I'm getting the feeling Walt wont be with us anymore after this season.

Also for the sake of this thread, I hope the hunt goes well Friday, and remember...next weeks episode of Lost is entitled "The Hunting Party".

More useless information.

Excellent idea Anne!! Miss Penelope will be there tonight. After this week at work, tonights hunt night will be well needed.
HELLO other LOST fans  , and I too agree Mr. Eko is great. I think it will turn into an interesting dynamic between him and Locke that they are both men of 'faith' ~ John's being faith in the island, Eko's being religious. Just my opinion.
Glad to see other people watch the best show on television!!
See you all tonight.
