So where has Theros been?

Well, since I've come back, I thought it might be appropriate to let everyone know where I've been, why I've come back, and to also ask for a little help. So, here I go:

1. Why did I leave? -- Well, I spent the better part of my time playing UO (from 1997 until 2004), taking part in lots of player quests, roleplaying, and collecting rares. Towards the end of my time, it became more like a chore to log into the game, make sure my vendors were stocked, then log out. It wasn't fun anymore. Many of my friends left, and the RP went away. I also let the game interfere too much with my personal life, and my marriage went to hell. So to save what was left, I quit. By the way, I was able to save my marriage, and restore my personal life.

2. Where did I go? -- Well I took a long time off of playing video games... period. Once things got better, I tried various MMO's. The latest among them being World of Warcraft. In my personal life, I got out of the Army and went home to San Diego. I ended up getting a good job working as a contractor for the Navy on their computer network. I was also still a part of the military as a drilling reservist.

3. Where am I now? -- Well, I had planned on being done with the military permanently, but unfortunately, they were not done with me. I have been re-activated, and am currently on Fort Riley, in Kansas. Soon, we are leaving for a tour in Iraq. We will have internet, so I plan to make a huge return to Britannia.

4. What are my plans? -- Well.. that remains to be seen. I have to start over from scratch. I no longer have my home. Most of the people I knew are gone. I don't mind starting over. I have done it once. I can do it again. And I am by no means asking for any help, except in information. I would like to accomplish a few things:

The United Blacksmiths of Britannia - I was the Catskills Sharmaster. Before I left, I transferred the stone to one of the few remaining members. Now, when I check the UO.com website, it shows it as having one member. Mr. Miner. I am looking for help in tracking anyone down that knows anything about the stone or how I can get around it.

Edinburgh - I am looking for anyone that remembers the village, and also anyone that would have any thoughts of helping me revive it. I would like to own some property there. Again, I am not looking for actual help, just information.

Most of the people that have welcomed me back in the game, and on the boards have been super, and I appreciate it. Thank you very much. If any of you need to contact me, please feel free to do so. My ICQ is 122287047.

Theros, I have a decent plot in Tram that I will give to you if you like. It is on Dragon Island and it is fairly decently sized. As for Edinburgh.. I honestly don't go to Tram much these days. Sorry.

F'Nor and Sandra - It's wonderful to see you two again. I am proud that it seems that the Mists are still alive and well. We shall have to meet up one day and catch up on old times... do you still like stories? I know a wonderful tale of a village named Edinburgh! *grins and winks*

Cabe - Thank you very much for your offer. You are most generous, and I am seriously thinking of taking your offer. I will be in contact with you.

I ended up recovering my account details, which wasn't that hard. Currently, I am using a trial account. With all of the other games I have played, I couldnt see myself paying to reactivate my UO account on the fact that I might not stay. I got a trial account that I am using at the moment.

But with each day that passes... with each forum post... with each one of you being so kind, I am willing to wager all of my gold and items that I'll end up staying.

Speaking of that, this weekend I will be out of town. The Army is allowing us to take this easter weekend as a pass and I can go home and see my family one more time before I head out to Iraq for 18 months. I should be back sometime Monday evening and will catch up with you all then.

Until then, you all have a great easter weekend!
