On Friday, the 25th of August in the year 2006, the call to arms went out far and wide for a force to help rid our lands once and for all of the Ophidian invaders that had plagued us for so many weeks. Fighters from all walks of life gathered their weapons, pets, bandages and magical spells and responded to the call.



Information was received that the invaders had been driven back to the remote town of Papua where they were making a stand and the warriors headed quickly to face the slithering force waiting to greet them. Upon entering the town of Papua, the battle was quickly engaged.





As the last reptile warrior was defeated, an eerie quiet fell over the town and the warriors gathered at the bank to receive their next orders. Information came quickly that a strange barrier was in place deep within the heart of the Terrathan Keep. While no one knew what lay behind it, we all knew we MUST get across. The source of the invasion over the past weeks had to be behind this deadly barrier.



The entire group battled their way deep to the heart of the Keep and found before them black flames that killed any person who dared to try to cross. While a group went to the flames to try to find a way through, another group of brave souls guarded their backs against any sneak attack.





Word came quickly that some clues had been found to dropping the barriers but it would not be easy. The information received was that "Words of Power combined with great magical ability" was the only hope of safely getting through the lethal flames. As the best minds in Sosaria tried frantically to work out the key, a surprise attack came from behind! These ruthless reptiles were determined to stop the soldiers at all cost. The battle hardened warriors quickly took up arms to protect the mages as they kept working on the key to drop the fields.



Just when it seemed all hope was lost and the lands would never be free of this plague, Sahra Swift came running up gasping for air and shouted the words "An Sanct Flam"! In a bright explosion of fire, the walls began dropping!!! The mages quickly took up the cry clearing the way for the force to move through to the deepest heart of the Keep.

The mighty band of brave souls rounded the corner and found themselves pitched into the depths of a nightmare scene that had even the strongest quaking. However, their hearts were true and the determination that has made this group one to be reckoned with pushed to the fore. Our very lives and future were at stake. We had found the core of the invasion army!



The battle was fierce with more deadly black flames and a specter that seemed to draw upon some otherwordly power to keep spawning Ophidian Berserkers at an alarming rate. Many deaths were recorded and the healers were kept busy tending to the dead and wounded and helping them back into the battle.







After what seemed like days, the heart of the power core was finally destroyed and the being spawning the Berserkers disappeared without a trace leaving behind only some black rocks and some remaining Berserkers which were dealt with quickly.

After gathering the wounded and tending to their needs, the exhausted band of fighters celebrated their victory and left to seek their rest or to seek a drink at the Tavern in Skara Brae.

This was a battle that will not soon be forgotten but once again, everyone proved why Catskills is THE place to be! It was my honor to fight and die beside you in this historic battle. I'm so very proud of each and every one of you.
