I have been wondering and thinking about maybe making a bard character, i have had all manor of characters from crafters to tamers to warriors etc but never one like the bard....

I was just wondering what sorta skills would be handy or would be needed to have a succesful Bard, i have a almost fully built ninja class which has had some skills taken from but could use some of those skills I have with him in combo with bard? or is it more the magery side i should be combo'in with bard skills?

my template of ninja is:-

100 Hiding, 100 Stealth, 100 Fencing, 100 Tac, 90 Ninjitsu and thats it... hehe most of the other skills are n soul stone or traded.... could i add bard skills to him? or should I start from scratch? with a list of dif skills? I don't mind starting from the begining, gives me a goal and something to work towards

u have almost 500 points used up with the ninja template. kinda hard to add bard skills unless u do just music/peace or music/provo

most bards I know are mages but i have seen warrior/bards too so its up to u and what fits ur style

Not sure what a bard ninja could do? I have never heard of it myself. As for a bard standard is:

Music
Peace or provoke or discord
Magery
E/I
Med
and you still have 120 skill points to distribute if skill cap is 720. You can get 2 bading skills if you wish.

I have a Provoke mage in my guild and she does really well in heavy spawns w/ so many targets to provoke. You have EV's for attacking and can invis and heal. She rocked against the void shadow when everyone else was getting killed.

I have heard of a necro bard but I have never seen one before but that definitely would be interesting to play with and different.

Good luck and if you do the necro bard let me know how it goes and maybe I will try it myself.

I see, sorry i didn't mean i was gonna just add it to my template just what makes a good bard and is there any skills i could take from my ninja temp as he is a spare....

but magery and eval etc are the best sorta combo?

but from what you are saying i am interested in a maybe necro combo, as i have 100 necro and spirit speak in my other character who just stores skills when i chop and change things

I am a bard/ mage in cats.
120 music 120 peace 110 provo 110 mage 100 eval 90 med 70 focus
I use jewelry to make my provo 120.
my mana is at 158
and my str is at 120
dex is only 10 but who needs it-these figures are with enhanced equipment of course.
With a 100%lrc, high mana regen and about 40% spell damage increase- whooboy!!!!strap your boots on- cause you are about to wreck just about anything that comes your way...
I know it's not a huge deal- but I can solo a para ancient wyrm without lifting a finger.
Miasmas are a joke. Now Rend and Pyre are a different story. I need a buddy to help me on those- hehe.
and take on 3 or 4 reptalons on ata time. Come on, who doesnt wanna be a bard/ mage..............Tunemeister Baby!!!!!!!

I play a tamer bard. Here is my current template:

120 Music
120 Peace
115 Taming
115 Lore
110 Vet
100 Magery

I've found 120 peacing has saved my ass and my dogs ass more than one occassion, it's a great template.

Araevin, where you will most likely see a necro/bard, is with any big spawning guild. They peace mobs and wither, and it helps out the rest of the group, as they just stopped the mob in their tracks and opens up a window for large AOE attacks. If they go along with another necro, and double wither, it is amazing. You can solo or double team, almost every spawn. I personally dont ever want to build this template myself, but we have a guy in my guild that built it, and he is a very handy person to have at spawns.

Nev is a pure bard:

120 music
120 peace
110 provo (with ring... i usally carry a brace to make it 120 when needed)
108 discord (with brace.. usally carry a ring to make it 120 when needed)
100 resist (spell book with 12+ magery, 12+ resist and 10+ eval)
112 mage (spell book, see resist )
100 medi

141 str, 33 dex and 120 int... some say i need to even out my int and str, but when you fight upper level monsters, i have found that str is much mor valuable then int, especially with gm medi

i also soul stone medi for lockpicking and carto for t-hunting... she can solo any level map with NO problems!

I have a bardic tamer and a mage bard.

the tamer has taming skills with disco, peace and music and magery (no med)

my mage purely has a mage template with provo and music.

I like the bardic skills on my tamer more.

I like peace tamer alot. I also have a thunter/bard but I am still working up discordance and provoke so far I can solo lvl 4 maps (eventually I wanna solo lvl 6 maps I have around 20 paragon chests from miasma)
