Tailoring

So i got to 95 tailor in 2 days.But now lies the problem...I cant get past 95 i went through 1k hides and 1k cloth making anything i could and no gain.Any suggestions on what to make?Or should i give the char a rest and then get on in a few days?

You should be able to hit 100 making oil cloths.

Yes, rest him a little bit. Above 97.5 I went to studded leather tunics. The gain was faster than oil cloth. But be prepared to go through A LOT of leather.

Just to be sure, you've checked that you've got points to spare, right?

That's caught me out a few times before, when something I set to go down reached 0 without me noticing.

I did oil cloths to 105, then cloth ninja hoods to 115. I never had to touch a piece of leather to gain until then, when I started doing the studded tunics.

Oh... yes! Do what Bo said. I made my tailor long before there were any such things as ninja hoods.

Also what to make at what stage depends on whether or not you've eaten a powerscroll and what PS it was. The higher your skill cap, the further you can gain with lower end craftables.

As in with no PS at all, oil cloths shouldn't get you to GM. After using a PS they'll work well over GM.

If your making ninja hoods, you may wish to turn them into the Brit Library for donation points.

you know, i never thought of turning in the ninja cloth hoods to the library. I could just stockpile them in the house and turn them in on the char I did the quest with. although, I only ever remember to do the gain a couple times a week i dont know if it would even make a dent in getting something..

As been stated, depending on if you've eaten a PS and which one you can gain up to a certain point just by making Oil Cloths then Ninja Hoods (no leather for the most part.

Oil Cloths take you to 97.6 when 100 is your limit.

Yah its nice not to have to depend on leather. I was hoping to be the tailor that got to 120 on just cloth, but after 115, I just couldnt gain anymore and had to finally switch to leather. But hey, it was a good run while it lasted!! hehe..
