Question about Parry

Howdy,

I was curious to know if The skill Parry was important for PvM, i know with high parry it is for PvP but if you didn't have bushido and you had over 80 dex and a shield would you see a great difference between if you had Gm Parry with shield and 80+dex and if you had no parry a shield (for no other purpose than its a nice colour) and 80+dex?

the only reason i ask is i have a necro/pally/warrior and wanted my 100 spirit speak but can only do this if i drop a skill and as i have swords, tac, anat, heal, necro, chiv & parry i was thinking maybe parry as this character was my pvm...

any info on this, I would be very thankful

Re: Question about Parry

In my opinion, you won't see that much of a difference without parry as long as you use your sword.

Re: Question about Parry

Almost all my warriors have 110 Parry and I love it! I block so many hits I barely get hit on most critters I fight.

Re: Question about Parry

it probably depends what you're fighting.

My good parry warriors can solo Miasmas (which do mortal strike and level five poison) because their parry helps them block the special moves.

Non-parry warriors can still solo them, but it's much harder for them because they always get hit by the specials.

Re: Question about Parry

ah i see thanks for the info, I solo'd that black scorpion the other day, at the moment i think my parry is 90 odd so i think i will train it to 110, i have 110 cap already, i don't remember buying it, but then i have a habbit of just buying things and forgetting what I have done or bought....

thanks

Re: Question about Parry

for a pvm setup, 110 parry will work just fine. Also you could essentially drop your heal/anat, and rely on your SS & chiv heals, and aim for some life leech weapons, this way you could boost your existing skills up a bit to get more effectiveness out of them. Just a suggestion..
