Re: Archery Is next,

Ogre lords are good - but FIghting Rat men in Compassion near the gate and shrine is also a fine idea if you like random challenges as you are ramping up. There are slow footmen rats (easy kills), archer rats (some challenge, arrow vs arrow), dangerous mage (Magic resist practice) and Deadly Paragons (well deadly if you're ramping up and aren't GM on other stats and good practice running away if your character is still weaker.)

- the rat men archers give off between 60-70 arrows per kill - about 1000gps worth of loot if sold to NPCs in haven or where ever. Nice for the younger players who may not have vendors. Also an excellent source for more arrows nice n quick.

I find it a good place to get Archery and other stats up if you like a little enterainment and action in your ramping up.
