Archer/Focus

I am new to UO and I am developing my character into an archer.
My question is whether the Focus skill would be recommended for an Archer and if so how high would you let this skill develop.

Focus is not really needed. What other skills do you have and what are you wanting to do (PvM, PvP or both)?

Focus is not really recommended for anything, unless you have little points leftover after your other skills and nothing else to put them in.

My skills include, Tactics, Anatomy, Healing, Magery, Resist Magic Bow/Fletch.
I am only interested in PvM.

Sounds like everyone agrees I could do without Focus. I will toggle the Focus off/down.

Why should I drop Archery?? I rather enjoy it. What advantages does Sword/Mace have??

Dont listen to Bo he just hate archers, he rather be in the front line where the action is at not on the sidelines attacking from behind, hehe

It's about what you like, if you enjoy it keep it.

yes, I was merely playing around. If you want to do archery, go for it. I prefer to stand toe to toe in a fight, and not behind the frontliners....

Actually you are pretty much building a more dexer based template there, so you should get rid of the magery, and put that skill into chivalry. You will be very limited in your weapon quality if you stick with magery, as it will need to be spell channeling. Chiv is the way to go here

If you can't rely on your suit for mana and stamina regen, like on the seige shards, then Focus is quite useful. But on production shards, not many people I know competivly use focus on their templates. if you are Human with UOML or better upgrade of UO then you get an untold 20 focus skill (among others) and that is normally enough that you can keep running withoutloosing all stamina. Just keep in mind that Alcemists can still make the refresh pots. Only templates I use focus on are on my training charactors who want every drop of mana they can get. lich form + gm or better focus + gm or better med + 18 mana regen + 40%lmc = easier training template
