Tokuno Dyes Question

How do you get tokuno dyes besides buying them? Is there a monster that drops them or an event/quest that hands them out? I really want some but don't have the in-game cash to buy them.

They were dropped by all monsters in Tokuno during Treasures of Tokuno 1 and 2.

When 2 came around, they changed them to be metallic hues )as opposed to the neon ones that you see alot) and dropped them in amount of charges.

Until they reinstate Treasures of Tokuno (which I personally have a great hope that they do) you can only get them by buying them from people who have them.

It was basically an event to get people into the Tokuno Islands to hunt. For every monster you killed, you had a chance to get a "Minor Tokuno Artifact" (lot of eople called the T-marties or tomarties, if memory serves) and when you got 10, you could go see the Minister of Trade in Zento and trade them im for one "Major Tokuno Artifact"

The minors included Golves of the Sun, Arms of Tactical Excellence, The Exiler, Ancient Urn of 'so-and-so', etc.

The Majors included Rune Beetle Carapace, Kasa of the Rai-Jin, Stormgrip, etc.

If you gather up 10 minors you can still trade them in for a major actually. Though, the dyes that you could get would be the metallic hues, not the neons, and the newer ones are limited to 10 charges per bottle, not 50 like the neons :/ That was a bad move, imho.

Not the minor, metallic hues. But if you have 10 minors to turn in, you can still get the major ones.

I have heard that the new major dyes only have 10 uses. That seems awfully expensive considering they cost 10 minors!

Yeah, that was the only thing I didnt like about ToT2. It was great excuse to go out killing stuff and get cool prizes and I really liked changing away from the neon hues but I was shocked when I saw the Major Bottles were 10 uses. You can barely get 1 matching suit out of that....

Hang onto them, the price of them will slowly increase as they get bought up by the various people. I've got 3 Stormgrips, 4 Carapices and 3 Kasa's. I've currently got plans to use them all. I actually use one of the minors, the Samari Helm, good DCI and resists. Personally I think its the best minor that was released. I think I've got 2 pairs of the Swords of Properity and a Sword of the Stampede lying around.
