Leather Dye tub

I have in possession a "Leather Dye Tub, 1st Year Veteran Reward" that evidently is mislabeled, as it only dyes regular clothing items, and leather tubs are 2nd year rewards. Didn't know if this was worth anything as a "rare" or not. Any info would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

hmm no clue. But in the rares game, you never know who will pay to have that item. Possibly a museum on your shard?

Will check into that, thank you! I have no real use for it myself, since most of my stuff is just stored away and not "on display" so maybe...

It is a tub that was sold to a vendor and purchased back. GMs are supposed to be able to fix it. However, there's something about that selling and buying back that was supposed to be a bug or exploit. Be careful.

There are some posts about it on the UO Hall or UO Rares forums. I dont think its illegal

Took some searching but found Jeremy's official public statement on the leather dye tub that dyes only cloth ... Bugged Leather Dye Tub dated 12/26/06

Well funny thing is that this still works, you would think dev would fix stuff when they know about it lmao

you could sell to a npc tailor and then buy it back and it will dye cloths and be 1st year label its not rare u can still do it how ever i think its a bug not a banable bug but dont try calling a gm to fix they will nto fix ebcause now they have exploited tubs because they were fixing then that dye leather armor the colors of a regular dye tub so its neon colors

On the other hand, it is a nice thing to have, as you can use it to dye cloths in metal colours, and there is a nice soft charcoal in the shadow iron palette.
