Blackrock can be used in the current Moonglow event thing. Something about having it on you when you kill a shadow lord - you can get a cloak of corruption. Something like that.

No no no!

As a blackrock merchant, I'd like to clarify =D

1) During the live portion of the event, having blackrock on you the first day guaranteed you certain bonuses while in the moonglow rift area - increased regeneration, for example. Not entirely certain if those bonuses are still in effect.

2) During this current portion of the event (as of 21 Apr), casting Armageddon while holding blackrock will consume one piece of blackrock (like a reagent) and deal a significant amount of damage to a Shadowlord. So far, I've tentatively determined the amount to be half of the SL's remaining hitpoints. I think that, if two SLs happen to be in range of your spell, you will do damage to both of them. This is important because the top three damagers of a dead shadowlord receive a cloak of corruption.

3) Allegedly, blackrock can also be *given* to a shadowlord. This apparently has the effect of changing your alliance from the side of 'good' to the side of 'evil.' I am unaware of any confirmation of this, or if the alleged effect is reversible somehow.

4) Also, just having blackrock in your pack may cause the animals and monsters of Sosaria you encounter to become [blackrock infected]. These monsters ae hyper agressive and tougher to kill than normal counterparts - but not as difficult as a paragon of that creature. I think paragons can also become infected, which would be a splendid nightmare.
