Get everything to move to moving crate?
Hey all -
Is there any way to get EVERYTHING in a house to move to the moving crate when redesigning a house? Thx!

Its been a while, but if you go into Customization and clear the entire structure and then Commit, doesnt that send everything to the crate?
Cant say I truly remember... |

I believe that you have to axe all the mondain's legacy items (fountain life, statues, crystal/shadow items too) then everything else should go into a crate as usual.
Can not remember why it needs to be done with these items, just remember a dev saying they needed to be picked up before you redesign.

All the Mondain stuff, and Elvin Furniture has to be deeded and picked up before you can go into customization mode. The only way to get everything into the moving crate after that is to make the house a bare plot... I'm not even sure if that would take everything off the bottom level though.... but it would the upper floors.

Actually... The stuff on the upper floors floats in the air >.<
What you need to do is, basically, build walls on every tile, on every floor. Commit. Then, anything that is in a place it can't be because of a wall (ie, everything) gets bumped into the crate.

wow! that is a lot of work lol! Or move all the crates onto the bottom floor and then make a wall on each of those tiles, at least it wouldn't cost as much eheh

If you have the money in the bank, you'll get it back when you commit without the huge block of walls.
Otherwise, if you clear/submit. Then you can use a deco tool to lower items if you're standing on the same x/y tile as they are. That's a long job, though...

The trick I always use to pack up each floor of my house into a few crates and then stack the crates in the NW corner of each floor. Then in customize mode I put a wall where the crate is. Commit and then go back in customize mode to clear the design and build with a clean uncluttered house. You will get your gold back that it costs for the few walls. When you unpack from the moving crate, make sure that you have the moving crate on the floor of the house where you want the items in it to be stored. Like if you want to do crafting on the 3rd floor of your home, open your moving crate on the 3rd floor and unpack there, that way you don't have to lug those heavy crates all the way up to the 3rd floor yourself. And just in case you forget, and have to move something heavy up a single width stairway, you can put a crate or box or any container that you cant walk through into a bag or pouch if it is locked down then walk through the bag to get around it. A method I have used instead of the walls on every tile, has been staircases wherever I could. Then I would fill in with walls wherever I couldn't. I would usually use the corner wall tiles for this. This has the same result, but covers 4 tiles at a time wherever the staircases are placed. Those bar things work also.
