FYI / Heritage Rugs Item Placement
Just FYI for anyone reading this:
If you place a rug on your steps (in this case a plain blue rug), it looks sorta neat as an entry way to a doorway I suppose. More importantly, and the reason for this post, is that anyone can re-deed it, and you can re-deed anyones items that are placed in this manner. This information is according to two in game GMs, and I have not personally proved it. ![]() If you contact EA by another means, they tell you it is a legal placement which "should" be safe. They add in that contacting an in game GM is more relevant information and suggest you do so, even after a GM tells you to email them. I have been researching this and other heritage item placement issues since 11/11/06. Bottom line, if you want to kep your rug, you shouldn't do it. And if you know anyone whom has, they should discontinue doing so.

Thanks for posting this Samhain. I'll be sure to check if anyone I know did this, and let them know that it's not safe.

Re: FYI / Heritage Rugs Item Placement
I have sent a number of emails to EA, and told a buynch of other people to do so. I do not take credit for the information available, however: it is now public knowledge, via UO.com.
"Until further notice, players are advised not to place deedable items (curtains, rugs, etc) on the front steps to their houses. Doing so will cause the item to drop to the ground and may compromise the security of the item." And thats good news, FYI.
