![]() | Almost a veteran, but heres a newbie question Hi, Well, I'm new to this housing and I have this very simple (stupid?) question: How do I hang anything on the walls of my house, like a painting, picture, bulletin board.. Presently I can only place and fix them on the floor. |

![]() | Re: Almost a veteran, but heres a newbie question You need either ; most likely a house decorating tool - can't remember offhand which NPCs sell them - place and lock down your deco item, double click the tool, you get an options list to target whatever it is you are placing and can choose to rotate it or raise or lower it. However, some things it won't work properly on, and you have to resort to tricks like piling other items until they reach the right height, then putting your deco item on top of the heap, locking it down, and either letting the pile of stuff it is on decay or moving it all out.... but which technique works with which items I really can't remember ![]() |

I can honestly say I have never had a problem when placing mine. Make sure the area on the floor, around where you want to place your item,is free of any other things that may interfere ,this some times helps. Failing that as said earlier, use the 'stacking 'system. Fish steaks are good for this,as the item doesnt drop into them. They need not be locked down, and will decay afterwards. Pile them about 3/4 high or to the required height, try to place your item. If that works, lock it,then use house placement tool to raise if you want it higher. Good luck .

![]() | Re: Almost a veteran, but heres a newbie question You can always stand in the spot where you want your hanging item to be, place a trash barrel there, put the item inside and chop it, and it'll be exactly where you want it, without using any boards. |
