What goes through your head at 5 in the morning?

ok im sitting here after a fire alarm in my hall's and i cant get back to sleep and well yea nothing seemed to be going through my head sept when the hell did i learn to touch type, and that i cant get to sleep or do anything much else. I was also wondering what other people who are awake at 5 am (be it through fire-alarms, choice or other) were thinking.. now i know for alot of you it isnt exactly 5 am but yea what have you thought at 5 am in the morning... ok that makes no sence and the best thing is im not drunk just tired with a pair of frozen feet as i forgot to put my shoes on before fileing outside and stanfing on bare stone for an hour :/

Usually if I am awake at that time, I am staring blankly at the walls wondering why I have insomnia again. :-P

When I get up at 5am, which is quite often, it's usually because the cat is crying and I am up trying to beat her. But she runs and thinks that we are playing..so I come here and sleepily read UOF.

Driving to work at 5am. What am I thinking?

Hope no deer runs out on the road.
Hope there aren't no real late night drunks on the road.
Hope thats not a cop car up there.
What kinda **** can I fix today.
Will I get a better offer today.
Why is that moron driving with the bright lights on.
Why is that prick tailgating with the bright lights on.
Maybe I can just drive off a cliff and see what thats like.

A zillion mundane silly things run through my head. But then, it always has.

*laugh* I've had that thought once or twice while driving down the mountains towards Phoenix... sort of a Thelma and Louise rush... then I realize that my luck is very poor at best, and instead of a quick and painless death, instead I would survive and be in maddening pain for days because no one has spotted my car and eventually I'd just die from deyhdration or be eaten by a mountain lion. :/

Re: What goes through your head at 5 in the morning?

It depends.

If it's 5:00 a.m. and I've been up all night, things like "Damn, I should get some sleep" go through my mind. If I just got up, it's more like "Damn, why am I up so early"?

Of course, my last real job (before I turned to the Dark Side) started at 5:00 a.m., and back then it was "Why the hell did I get a job that starts at 5:00 a.m."?

And back when I was gigging alot and just getting home at 5:00 a.m. or later, it was "Damn, I'm hungry"!!

There were usually a few more colorful expletives thrown in, depending on my level of sleep deprivation at the time.
