In the last 2 days, we have had two accounts hacked (literally).

I think our time on this game is spent.

Now keep in mind we are experianced players, pvpers, etc that do not give each other pw's, etc (not even some of us who have been playing together for a few years).

Now one hacker I know who it is as they admitted it in game (IP Hack according to them). But the latest one jacked us hard as they took our main guild house with several players items, etc. as we were a transfer guild.

Now I hope at least you (most likely not) return the soulstones, etc to us.

Considering the high threat level to our guild I am afraid a lot of us may be at the end our our UO gaming days (guild of 18).

(I do screen shots and logs of one admitting to it (IP hack.), I tried to send these to someone, but not much they can do).

PS: We are aware of the current scams going on with fake UO logins, etc. Everyone has been extremely careful when dealing with theses and nethir person logged into any websites. We are adults with a good % have a lot of comp experiance.

A bit o Advice

1)Call EA and Put all you accounts on Suspension, and get them investigating the problem.
2)Get a Hardware Based Firewall to put between your PC and the Broadband, that eliminates the IP hacking if you set it up correctly. Software Firewalls like Norton Internet Security are only as good as your Windows Patches.
3)Format your Hard disk, reinstall and PATCH WINDOWS fully. Then Reload UO.
4)Stop visiting Porn, Warez, and MP3 download sites.
5)Cease and Desist Using Internet Explorer, Use Opera or FireFox.
6) Make Sure your using an up to date Virus Scanner.

already probed them.

Both use an on board firewall build to their mother board as well as mcafee firewall (I think) with their virus scanner.

They already changed their pw's using differnt computers and made differnt emails to put them on.

EA was able to change the pw's on both peoples accounts, but will not take further action.

not sure about porn, neither were on today to ask them. (well, the latest one on as he was trying to reclaim his account... since your post he has logged off)

Virus scans as well as spyware searchs were made with zero finds.

Both have dumped ICQ for the time being incase it's the culprit.

As far as any thing I can do with the screen shots, icq logs, I am not sure...

The only related thing I could find in each issue was a yahoo.com email address for both.

But at this point I don't think it's worth it to continue on. A lot of my guild members were returned wow players and I think this might scare them back.

dam hackers, i would be soo pissed if i lost all my soulstones.. really hope this gets fixed

Watch what forums you join and what information you give them. Information like "Favorite Pet's name" or "Mother's maiden name" can be used against you to hack into your account from an untrustworthy website. Alot of ppl will use the same password for everything. If the same people hack and scam in UO, they will do the same using their website.

I know that guy who posted this, who's brother and his friend got their acct hacked. They were good pvpers and respectable people. Its a shame neither one will be out there fighting us anymore. The guy who he accused of hacking it knows who did it, but according to his post on his guild's forum, he wont tell him who did it or any info, just that he didnt do it. It's a shame.

thats soo true maddux. Alot of those people will invite the shard they are on to join their forums so they can talk a bit more trash-talk there, and when they sign up, they receive all the info they need. I am a firm believer in using the types of passwords they make us make for our military-based logons. Capital letters, special character, number, and atleast 8 characters long. I also dont use my UO login for anything I sign up for. Its a 1 of a kind unique login name.

just a friendly reminder folks ...

NEVER - EVER!! ... use your UO account name and/or password anywhere outside loging into the game,
and to use the official secured UO's Account Management site.

And if possible, don't even provide your email that is associated with your UO account information.
Let that be strictly for your communication with UO. There are plenty of other email addresses
available that you can use for other internet communication.

Not doing so is the best security defense in protecting your UO account information.

By the time I found out, it was to late, EA considers someone whos' paid a months worth of subscription as the "owner" of the account

My brother recently told me that his account got hacked. I don't think mine ever has...maybe I don't have anything worth taking...I collect more "junk" (Adam called it that once) than anything valuable.
