Who's job is it to put together a complete publish/change list?

MoonglowMerchant asks

Why is this so hard?

Coldran was first to respond with

You try keeping track of every line of code every developer in every department touches and detailing it's EXACT impact....

If this were possible, you'd never have bugs.

[Edit]

Granted, some of these changes should have been documented, such as the BoS issue.. Someone probably just missed a memo on that.. But some of the changes were probably so minor no one thought to document them, or didn't document them promptly enough.

C'est la vie.

"Someone" is not doing a very thorough job then.

As if that isn't obvious.

The person responsible for this function was escorted from their desk & workplace a couple months ago.

LOL

Not sure how thet know that information though.

Jeremy explained

About four people missed this batch - we're still trying to figure out how. Sorry!

*whispers* Thanksgiving. Blame it on Thanksgiving and the memos accidentally having gravy spilled on them. It works every time.

Lysarius offered his thanks

I'm glad they were left off the list so that people wouldnt rush out to exploit the systems as much as possible before they were changed.

By the way... Nice work devs!
-Runics will be useful before long
-Smithing BODS getting some love
-One of the biggest in game events in the entire history of UO
-Doom drop system addressed (hopefully they arent really dropping as fast as some people have said)
-KR is quicker
-Out of balance gold sources addressed (Swoop, BOS, Champ Spawns, etc)

Yeah there are still problems, but these are some of the best changes I've seen in a long time. THANKS!!!!

(The pessimist in me is worried that these fixes on long standing game issues are "parting gifts" from our dev team, but I sure hope not. I'll be anxious to hear news about the future plans of the team.)

Moonglowmerchant posted again, but was a bit rude,so I shall leave his post where it is.

Jeremy replied and answered his question, so thats good enough, in my opinion

The fact they forget to mention such changes doesn't bother me, what bothers me is they make these changes without so much as a hint, or even a "What do you think if we changed X,Y,Z"

And when they do change things, or add things, it's like it doesn't go through any kind of testing these days.
Like the doom changes, it was only out for a day and it was nerfed down...surely someone should've setup some testing platform on test to see how many arties would drop if X bosses were killed?

Re: Who's job is it to put together a complete publish/change list?

What bothers me is that there is no clear vision for UO. All the changes that occur come from thin air; who would have thought that all of a sudden, resources would be randomized, or that bags of sending would be weight-based?

I would like to see a clearly-defined vision of what the team intends for UO, and a list of fixes, changes, and additions by which they intend to achieve that vision.
