What The Artists Have Been Doing - Grimm's Update
Player: It'd sure be interesting to know which action points EA took, due to the massive fuss this thread generated. Some of the obvious guesses might be:
- Bring the artists out into the open to talk with us about these issues (I don't remember there being much activity there before)
- Improve the quality of the graphics
- Lift graphic issues up a few notches on the priority list from now on
- Bring back some of the old graphics we've been missing like the daemon and shade
Grimm: Yup - all of those things came out (finally) of this thread. As far as updates, well I guess a lot more time has passed than I've realized. We've updated the art tools to the latest versions and are still getting them synced to our pipline, We've managed to fix most of the UOSE wearables so that they look great now. We've fixed some of the female clothing to look better, we've done a proper job in creating art to replace art that was never implemented correctly for the 2D client. We've gotten the art style to be more consistant with the classic art (wearables). I've also started tackling the UI a little bit. And we've been doing some behind the scenes work that would be useless to describe cause it doesn't affect the final art product in game. We've also reverted some art to help bring back the feel of the old game and I've unleashed (pardon the pun) Cathat on the community which now makes it 2 artists that are active in the community from the big zero that had been up until just after UOML, or there abouts.
Hope this is a decent update on what we've been up to. There's lots more good stuff on the way, but of course, we can't talk about it just now.
