Three plus months without a single event and for UO's 10th anniversary you're releasing virtue armor? I really, really don't think anyone cares about virtue armor when the lack of new content (I wouldn't call 'virtue armor' content) is gone beyond a joke and people are leaving because of it.

You devs really, really need to re-think your plans for UO... because right now it's just pathetic.

I gotta agree. They tell us not to expect much for a while because of preparation for the anniversary, and the result will be stuff that was added a while ago and was never given out properly?

Yes, I know they'll be adding unimportant "do it once and you've done it enough" limited time "events" and "quests" to get it that will probably not be worth the effort anyway, but having that be the reward? Nah.

Honestly? I don’t think it’s much of a sacrifice to put in the rest of the Virtue Armor. I mean, shouldn’t we have compassion for all our honored veterans who’ve waited so long? It really doesn’t do justice to their valorous achievements if we brush them aside. They’re humble about it, sure, but I think there’s a sort of spiritual yearning for them, regardless of what content we put in.



Besides, if we didn’t, could you imagine the chaos?

80%? Are you kidding? I don't think 20% of the player base cares about virtue armor... I think 80% of people in fel want new reasons to pvp, I think 80% of people want cheating to be fixed, I think 80% of people in tram want new events, I think 80% of people want the EM program back, I think 80% of people want better GM's... this list goes on and on and on.

I want it, just not if its going to eat away at their development time so damned much that we have no real updates or happenings for a solid month. I thought we had seperate teams to keep this kinda thing from happening.


This is especially true considering how far from playable KR still is. No KR fixes for a MONTH so they can add access to 5 items that should have been available a long time ago now? No thank you.

I dont even care anymore. if the finish to the virtue armor set is what we have been "putting everything else on hold for" I seriously doubt their ability. that set should have allready been, and probably was, in the can and now they wanna' trot it out for the 10th Anniversary?!?!

Very good! No need to buy any codes or boxes this time - I like it.
Anything that does not cost additional money is fine... even if we only get a 10th anniversary cake I'm happy.

Perhaps I phrased it poorly - the virtue armor is far from the only thing we're doing for the tenth anniversary. It is just something that has been asked for, repeatedly, by a large number of people, so I figured it would make at least those people happy to know it was coming.

At least they aren't selling codes....it sounds like they are planning a HUGE event in game with stuff to maybe loot off monsters and other things.....

I know that since the Virtue armor Cloak came out I saw COUNTLESS posts "So where's the rest of the set? It's only been blah blah years"

I'm sure the rest will be equally pointless. And OH what a wonderful trade that is for not getting any fixes for "the client of the future" which has been solidly broken since even before its early official release and recent second official release that made no sense.

I mean look at that patch this week. That made the thing so much more playable didnt it? Oh, well then how about the one last week that made the new client not run terribly? Thats right, we didn't get one because of this damn stuff. That heap is the only real chance we have at attracting players now; letting it sit around bleeding to death slowly to add in a few fetch quests for the anniversary is about the worst thing you could possibly do right now.

Exactly and apparently people in that thread lack reading comprehension. I mean seriously a Jeremy came on and explained we not just getting the virtue items. People still complain or they jump to conclusions and start saying stuff like well I bet it will suck anyway! I bet if EA gave some of these people a million dollars each..they would complain still. Like omg this bill is ripped total bull!!!! EA!!

May I ask what the hub-bub is over the set? Cuz, unless they done something nice, you can't even wear it in battle. It has the platemail STR requirements. The cloak STILL does not fit the 2D paperdoll. And the resists (if I remember aright) will barely make it to 70 with ALL the peices. And not even any good mods.

If it is a pixel crack fix, then I can understand that. Or something for the beleaguered RP'ers, I can nod at that too.

If the push is because it is useful, then , errrrm, maybe we need to nerf everything ELSE so the armor is good.

The push is just to get somethingout on the Dev's end that takes little to no work and to paint a nice and rosey picture. I am just happy they have't messed up Madden 08 yet..

I dont think they need a "jesus" stick to mess it up anymore than what it is, but perhaps a "server stabilty" stick.

The Devs always get a hard time, as people will always moan they have missed something or spent too much time on one project when they should be working on another.

I think the very nature of humans is to moan when we can and not offer enough priase when something good happens. I know this is most certainly true in my line of work. Lots of moans/meetings when things get messed up or fall behind, but when things go swimmingly well you get a quick thanks ( literally just that ) during one of the mid week briefs.

Thats one of the things i noticed early on in my career and that as i have progressed through the chain of command i have tried to rectify to make those working with me feel more valued.

The hub-bub about the set is because everyone want(s)/(ed) it. Kind of like pixel crack, but it still has it's purposes. It's supposed to be an all blessed suit, making it the perfect suit for a thief. I'd imagine any and all RP'ers will want the entire set.

Also a part of the hub-bub about it was the way it was introduced and what was needed to get them. At the time, those quests/string of quests were unique and it gave players something new/exciting to do with a reward that was not overpowering.

I think it's a disgrace that UO has become so item dependant that it is almost REQUIRED to have new items become "useful" or "powerful" just to appease people.
