uo 3d client and nvidia geforce 7800 GS

taken from Thread :- uo 3d client and nvidia geforce 7800 GS found in UO.UHall
This "lagging" is making me crazy - I am slowly suspecting it might be my graphiccard - I have the above named one.
I have looked into everything else - connection, benchmarking etc

I have a ping of 60ms but it plays like a ping of 200ms+

Has anyone got the same grafca as I have and are experiencing simular probs?
Thx Belmarduk

Other specs of the machine:
P4 2800
2 GB RAM
WinXP
ALL NEWEST drivers
G7 logitech cordless laser mouse (could that be causing probs???)

PPS: Otherwise the machine is fast and with the onlinegame : eve-online (which is VERY grafic intensive) it runs totally smoothly - only uo is not running smoothly

Can you please provide your Direct X info here and we can look through it. Have you got any background tasks running that may be affecting it? Are you running dual monitors and running dual monitor accel?

Has this recently started or has it always been this way? if it's recent, can you remember anything you may have installed, or changed since the problem started?

You can run Dxdiag from the Start->Run command box to get your DX info.

Thank you, and my apology that you're having such problems. Hopefully we can solve them.

Its good that you are pinging low, but what kind of packetloss are you experiencing? try running a continuous test (at least 500 hits to each hop) with something like uotrace to rule that out. It is possible to have good ping times with as much as 20% packetloss.

[i]Hi Thx for answers
I will post a dxdiag when I get to my computer (I let it run though a few weeks ago and as far as I saw it showed no probs)
I will also try a uotrace.

It started roughly august 2006 (sometimes better sometimes worse - bad atm )
I first thought it had to do with a uoassist patch - The grafcard also was built in about that time.

Will post when I have results - Thx untill then

Try downloading the latest Nvidia Drivers for the card.

Version: 93.71
Release Date: November 2, 2006

that may help, but the I can't promise it will help much. I would recommend the 2d client until UO:KR comes out
