Unattended Macroing Player Questions

Player: *Greets* ...

In another thread this is being discussed, because one person didn't respond fast enough to a GM.

An open question to UO responsible staff:

1. What happens if handicapped players don't respond fast enough?
Remark on account - or banishment?

2. What will happen to me if i have to leave keyboard (while macroing - i always do that in small amounts so i have a chance to respond and don't macro empty - and NO scripting!) in case of an emergency - and i don't have time to stop the macro or have my attention elsewhere so i forget?
Remark or banishment?

3. Any chance of we have reasonable boundaries for macroing as long as we are present in front of the screen?

4. Any chance of we have reasonable situations where we safely can attend elsewehere for a short period of time?

5. ANY chance of you will soon find a way to catch the policy breakers - so THE REST OF US can play in peace, quiet and safely without risking remarks or banishments?

6. Do we get a remark for being brought to jail? I think not, but merely ask to be certain.

(AND why do i have the feeling that UO won't respond to this)

Wilki: Ah, this is an easy one. All you'll ever need to know about our policy on this subject:

There are lots of clever people who come up with "what if?" scenarios, but the answer is still going to remain the same - if you're doing something in-game you need to respond to a GM if one asks you to do so. We don't have any way to verify whatever story is being told to explain away why a character was doing something but the person that was supposed to be playing the character was unable to type out a reply to a GM. If we just accepted any ol' explanation, then the rule would be pretty pointless.

You know, if a tornado is bearing down on your house and you have to run into the cellar, look at the bright side... it's not likely to happen twice!

Re: Unattended Macroing Player Questions

They usually ask u to respond a couple of times. I know I left one time to go to the bathroom and came back and a gm was standing there. I said hello real quick and he said "ah there u are. Was just getting ready to take u off to jail" I told him yeah just looked the other way at the tv. Anyways he said he had said something to me twice>
Not sure if they would all do that though
