I know there's been a lot of talk of strange voices, well here's a really odd one.
It's me speaking, and it's all in Japanese or something, then my game shuts down shortly thereafter.

It seems to happen right after I log on, I see a long string of what appears to be Japanese over my head like I said it, then a few seconds later the game shuts down. This has happened a few times now. Just in case, I went and changed my password.

Has this happened to anyone else, or does anyone know what's going on? It doesn't happen all the time, just sometimes, and I'm on Legends.

I saw some guys speaking in Japaneese characters on legends the other day, I didnt know how that was done (maybe it was you - haha). And I found a RUNE marked (on the ground by the haven bank), the label on the rune is all in Japaneese lettering (characters?), I thought it was neat so I saved it.

Ugh. I wonder if you enabled any extra language options in the client, if that would help. Or if they are enabled, disable them? It's odd how different things in UO regularly crash some people, and some of us never crash by anything in the game. I mean, we are all running the same client, yes? May I ask if you run UO on pretty low RAM? Anyway, my sympathies.

Hey, can anyone who's seeing this exact problem - foreign text that causes a crash when you look at your journal - grab a screenshot of it? That would help us figure out what's going on.

I wish I had thought of doing that. I just reformatted my computer yesterday. Under programs - EA Games there were 2 Ultima folders, one in english and one in what I assume was Japanese. I couldn't delete it, it said the names were too long. After the reformat, and re-installation of 9th anniversary, there is only one Ultima folder now, and it has not happened since. Anyone else having this problem should check to see if they have an extra Ultima folder.
