Well, it seems that my wish to try out a few templates shall have to wait longer still, as the test shard is still not down.

It was initally only supposed to be down for a week, I wonder what they're doing with it? Punkbuster, perhaps, or maybe more testing is needed on the 9th age rewards. There's always the in-game fiction, or perhaps it's something special indeed we don't yet know about.

Ok, so the last of those could be pretty cool, and the test shard is supposed to be for testing the functionality and for bugs... but... please... is it alright? Is the shard eating? Washing? It's not ill is it? ...It's run off with a TSO server, hasn't it?!
