To Trash or not to Trash ...?
source taken from thread :-Why is it so hard to bring back clean up Britannia system?
on UO.UHall Comment I can understand the last time it was because of reducing lag by having players turn in excess items. Well it has been 8 or so years now. Even though we don't need to turn in items to reduce lag, but some of us have way too many items. Just the other day I noticed I have over 100 snowman, wreaths, snowflake etc.., I mean I don't want to throw them away but its getting rediculous at the same time hording thousands of useless items. The tokumo system seemed to work great, can't you introduce something similar but instead we can turn in anything with point value? thanks, ######################### Jeremy_EAMythic UO Community Coordinator Ddo you think something that rewards people for cleaning out their houses is more valuable than the current fiction storylines? Or more valuable than the bug fixes we're putting in? I'm asking honestly - is this something the player base as a whole really wants to see? It's not that it's necessarily hard, it's that we have to pick and choose where we spend our time. Post your comments too folks !!!!!! ![]() ![]() |

It's something I'd like to see again, but I would much rather have a bug-free game.

Re: To Trash or not to Trash ...?
I don't know what the clean up Britannia system was, but like what Adri said, I'd rather have a bug-free game.
Did you get points by turning in your trash? I just throw away what I don't want, or put them down in WBB. My trash is someone else's treasure ![]() |

Re: To Trash or not to Trash ...?
I tend to hoard items on UO, but then it comes in handy sometimes when others need or want something. A friend and me are going to throw a xmas bash on Chessy and maybe give items away that we've accumulated, and even though some might just be a mistletoe deed or a snowman, everyone likes getting unexpected presents, especially at this time of year! Put them in colored bags or gift boxes and just go on a gift giving spree to your friends, guildmates, or even everyone at the bank! hehe, easy way to get rid of items and prolly be tons of fun to do.

Re: To Trash or not to Trash ...?
I personally prefer a better story arc then getting more items for turning in items.

Re: To Trash or not to Trash ...?
I'd like a bug free game but they will forever be "working on bugs" so that excuse doesn't carry as much weight after 9 years =^.^=
As for story lines and such... yes I would rather have the clean up britannia back. as everything they pump out lately is for the arti'd out and scrolled up i've so much time and money i don't know what to do with myself. people. Do I sound bitter? well I guess I am. I'm just a little tired with things that not everyone can participate in. And yes I know we "Can" but would we want to? no . It's a waiste ov fame and gold and i don't have that much to begin with. 5 min at a black rock event and i'm broke cause of the rez kill. Grim reaper? yet again. Void shadow? same thing. Ophidians? and again Yes I'd rather something that does what i want. gives me incentive to clean might free up some lag i've been haveing and noone can "steal" my points (as people steal kills n such at events) so again.... yea i would. ![]() Makeing Sosaria Beutiful one home at a time. ![]() |

Re: To Trash or not to Trash ...?
I'm with the idea that using the excuse "what would you rather have..." has grown quite old over the years.
I'd like to see a cleaning up program brought back. If I'm lucky enough to catch an event I'm not lucky enough to be rewarded for it excluding the multiple death robes. and I'm not bitter. I don't care - But in the end I follow the storylines but don't do the events. Its not worth it for me. |

Re: To Trash or not to Trash ...?
The purpose of clean-up Brittania was to encourage people to throw away stuff to reduce the load on the servers and thereby reduce lag. We no longer need to do this. I'd much rather have more in the story arc--which I have enjoyed very much lately. If you don't want something, just throw it away, people.

Re: To Trash or not to Trash ...?
Given that any rewards from a new "clean up" system would likely be on par with the recent crystal/shadow items, no it's not something I really want as a veteran player.
Perhaps if the rewards were say, reissues of past items..and I mean past as in not things from a scant two years ago..then maybe I'd be for it. The part about "current fiction storylines" really isn't valid..at least not to me..since much of it seems to be a plug for the new game (rescuing Inu only for her to sit there repeating "Kingdom Reborn!" for example). The part about bug fixes...well, recent bug fixes have been what, again? The ladder? The boiling cauldron container? Entire publishes devoted to _those_? Come on... *sighs* |
