| The Stacking Issue Player: It is frustrating as hell.
This is a major flaw with the game and it is yet to be addressed.
I have resorted to putting everything that wont stack into a new secure... So far I have 71 items...
Its nuts. The devs must know this...
yet..
Why are they not addressing it? Ando: The Dev team is aware of the stacking problems and has been making some ongoing progress at addressing them. The first stacking issue that was fixed involved old boards that weren't stacking correctly with newer ones, which was addressed shortly after the release of Mondain's Legacy. There are plans to fix plant resources that are not automatically stacking in (although I can't make any promises this will go in for sure). I believe an issue related to arrows not stacking correctly was fixed at some point as well.
The stacking issues basically stem from a fix to legacy bug that caused items to lose their properties when stacked with other items that didn't have the same information. This was a necessary change to allow stacking of quest items to work correctly. However since this was a global change, the result is that some older items in the game are no longer stacking with newer items if they differ in any form. Unfortunately, these bugs have to be identified and fixed on a case by case basis, which is why they cannot addressed all at once without reintroducing the original bug (which we can't do because it would break quests). Player: Ando, appreciate your update. Re:your comment about plant resources being fixed but not sure if it will go in the release, I have to say that bothers me a bit. Is it because they're not sure they've fixed it correctly? Because I'd hate to think it's one of the item types the devs have been able to find and fix, but gardeners have to wait because it didn't make it in before the code freeze...
Please ask the devs to include as many stacking bug fixes as they can find, even if it means a short delay in the release. This is very annoying in that it effects everyone's game on a day-to-day basis. Ando: To clarify, yes I believe the plan is to fix plant resources for pub38, however it is generally not a good idea to promise something before you are certain it can be delivered. |
