From UO.com:

Due to final internal testing on the 8th Anniversary items we did not release them to the Test Center shard. We are making some additional adjustments and are planning to publish the Test Center on Wednesday, September 14th 2005.

We will keep you updated as things are finalized.

Targeted for new players? If I bought a game for $20 then found out I had to pay another $30 to get the current release I would probably uninstall the program.

Many new players would probably miss out on the real fun that maybe people they meet in game already have access to but they do not and realizing they have ot pay 30 dollars for a code to access what they already have installed into there computer might upset them and have them quit and leave for another game such as WoW since I read on Stratics many have gone to it but continue to post the flaws of Ultima Online

I agree and it's true...but I will never say no to them putting a UO box on the shelves. It's hard enough to find UO in most computer gaming places...and when I do it's always at the bottem and only one copy (which I move to the top by the way hehe)

We can't get new players without shelf boxes...whether the box is a good idea or not.

I agree the vets will buy tons of them...but to me, if just a couple new people see it and buy it to try...that's a wonderful thing that I won't complain about.

Well in my opinion its hard to get new people to play a game that people say is "Outdated" Or any other things because we have a bad 3d engine. But I've tried my best to get people itno the game that I use to RP with but they rather play games like EQ2 or WoW or other such games with great 3D graphics but for me i like the 2D better then the 3D graphics.I love UO it was my first comptuer game online to play. If EA would put half as much money as they put into there sport type games into UO we could get a nice engine set up for 3D and maybe get some nice cool things added to make the game more fun. But it also don't help the RP point of view since on my shard all I see is people at the EVents asking for the sashs so they can dturn around and sell it in 10 mintues on a vendor for up to 10 million gold.

I'm all for some shelf presence but when I was buying LBR the guys at EB Games told me not to waste my money on it. 'No one plays UO anymore. Everyone plays Everquest' Good thing I don't listen to game store employees.

Our EBGame here in Red Deer, is crap. They don't even know what computer games are, let alone UO. They have one wall of shelves, maybe 3 feet long of computer games. The entire store is all console games.

Although our Future Shop carries UO all the time, which is nice to see.

I can't believe their employees say that kind of crap...bah...they should be taught to say nice things about all games.

lol. I skipped out on LBR. I came from third Dawn to AoS. And the EB games people in my mall play WoW. but I don't listen either. I do enjoy the looks of the Virture armor. But i'm a big rper so if I can get this suit together it's going to do alot of fun with it plus It looks better then any of the armor we actually got ingame. The quiver is huge though and looks odd wearing it since the belt is under the shirt instead of being over I guess they did this so you can wear a sash without confusing.
