Stealthy Devs Move in on Scripters

Player: Please EA.. destroy these scripters, do something, anything, they need to be stopped

Cathat: Yeah - Well if we seem quiet - remember what i said about us moving very stealthy on some issues these days. Nobody lurks on a message board quite as much as the Devs do.

I've had a lot of Emails reguarding out of control scripters. We hear you.

Can't expect EA or its Devs to lay out any long term D-Day plans on people like this. LOL. Ask any Gov offical something about security or war and of course its "NO COMMENT" - lol -

Natrually quite a few things we're mulling on. Some of em are nasty mean, punative, ideas (mostly stuff from my lil head thats shot down with a laugh) and more REAL ideas from some of our other less hot headed folk with devious little engineer minds.

All in good time people. Heh look at the bright side - if anyone ever asks what real worlds skills videogames build other than button pushing - you can look em in the eye and say, "Patience.. You smart mouthed game hater".

So don't let the script abusers blow your blood pressure out of whack. ok? There's a new generation of UO Dev folk here who are about as passionate as the original UO team.. And thats all I'm going to say about it on this thread.

While they lurk about in "stealth" mode, I'll be chopping/mining away at their (scripters) locations over their corpse.

But it is good to hear some news on the issue.

I'd rather deal with that than scripters any day of the week.

I had ato page a GM yesterday, seem's my mage went invisable and would not show no matter what I did. Drove me nuts for sometime. I cant recall the GM who did arrive, but I noticed him right off. Neon jacket and red GM robes.

Well, after a bit, The problem was fixed. I did notice finally something unusal about him. no GM tag.

At first, I gave it no thought at all, then I realized why. After reading the above post and hearing about a script that alerts a person to a GM arriving, I realized how they are snagging folks.

Seems script's will alert the folks after reading in the journal, you see GM so-so. No more, they will be snagged and I, am very pleased with that.
