Something wrong on test... i

As i'm running around near shops in town.. the NPC vendors are suddenly respawning

I ran past the vesper NPC and they were spawning, there was atleast 20-30 of them, definatly not normal.

At this rate the server will crash within an hour or two from the overbearing ammount of NPCs.
Can you tell us where please?

Just check the Vesper bank and nearby mage shops and you'll see what I mean.

I should note, it doesn't seem to be happening in Brit, Luna, or Yew.

Ok, this is only going to be an issue on TC. It was due to a Dev "nuking" the town in order to test things. This is the side effect of "killing" an invulnerable shopkeeper.

Since no one is allowed to do such things on production shards, things should be safe!

I really appreciate the catch though!

Would that explain the Minoc bank as well? I was just through there and there are close to 30-40 banker/minters in there before I logged out.

Was at the cove healer and when I went thru the doors as a ghost I rubberbanded back, 2 more healers spawned and then it let me thru the doors

Is there going to be a program implemented for "Prizes" such as pins, t-shirts ect sent to folks who tuen in legitimate bug reports, say a drawing each month that will net 10 random bug submitters some sweet swag?

Hehe okie, let me explain with a bit more detail.

A while ago you used to be able to kill NPC venders. When you did that, there was code in place to cause them to re-spawn. Well, that code is very old, so when a dev kills off the vendors they just keep re-spawning.

Since vendors are now invulnerable, and Devs are not allowed to do massive nukes on production shards we are safe. I’m happy to report that Origin is now published and is doing fine.

We have not removed the vendors on TC1. However, I was told that they will decay with time. If it continues to be an issue of lag or anything of that nature we will wipe them out, but for now we will let the NPCs roam free. Hehe
That and we don’t want to cause any issues or glitches in the Candle of Love event.

Again I am really really really glad you guys brought this to our attention!! It’s much better to know about this stuff now than to be surprised later. I’m just glad in the end it turned out to be a TC specific bug.
