since hiding is being changed can you also change a few other small things that will help discourage the afk people ?

my idea,

in order to recieve a artifact you MUST follow these guidlines....

#1 MUST command pets to either guard you , or
#2 command them to kill/attack each monster
#3 warriors MUST attack and not be auto defend kills

this along with the 10 tile thing(mages) should work.

oh yah and bump the spawn rate in trammel some, lots of people complaining about that in game/guild/etc

Why bother with it now?
The big run is over, the power farmers already made their money, artifact prices are going down every day (or even every hour) and soon the classic dungeons will be as empty as before and everybody returns to their peerless...

Nah, don't get me wrong - we actually had some big fun farming the farmers last weekend... although I'm pretty much sure that was not really the major idea behind that whole event.
I just mean that those changes should have been done before the event was even started.
Now its too late to bother with those details and they should better focus their development time elsewhere...

1 and 2 are true right now - I'm not entirely sure 3 is worth it. Are people really sitting afk and just auto-defending? I mean, I suppose it would work against rats...

Jeremy, I'm calling you on this one. You don't know WTF you're talking about. I've been using my tamer 90% of the time for this event and while I am there watching over my pets I am NOT, nor should I have to be, commanding them to kill every time a monster spawns. And yes I am receiving artifacts.

If it were the case where you had to command every kill, then please tell us how a mage will command their EVs?

Me thinks you need to rethink what you said and do some research before posting such drivel.

With the darkwood armor suit, a nice demon slayer weapon, and a script to honor, evade, lightning strike, and attack-next, it's even possible to afk farm the ice fiends. Not sure it's as easy now as it was a year or two ago with the recent bushido nerfs.

And they drop some nice loot.

Sorry Jeremy, but you opened up a can of worms with that comment.

Also, with a very simple target next - attack last UOA macro, you can kill anything without autodefending. Don't even need a script, just a pile of quarters. Of course, that could get you into trouble if somebody lures a blackrock elemental over.

Actually, blackrock infected spawn might be the easy way to handle this issue. Every critter killed should have a chance of respawning as a blackrock infected version - but they'll have to be beefed up to be like blackrock ellies. A blackrock infected lizard man isn't much of a threat.

Have them spawn about once every 100 critters.

I wasn't talking about scripting - that's not just auto-defending, if they're casting spells/using skills. Scripting is another can of worms entirely.

It's a suggestion I can pass on, certainly.

Which is the reason that I posted during testing that these Drops need to be extremely rare. To have this event be permanent will completely destroy the value on these items. How many people do you see farming paragon arties?????????????????????

Well to a LOT of people,who hunt them 'normally' they are.I know countless people who have ACTIVELY fought the spawns,hour after hour,and got absolutely nothing

So these vitue items will only be spawning until october 25th yes?

I agree, I hunt hour after hour and have gotten two items so far, and I mean HOUR after HOUR after HOUR, relentlessly. I would say here is one issue to not even address since it's only for a short period of time. Take this time to address a bug fix, etc.

I get an item every hour...dunno what everyone elses problem is...
