Player: I am curious to whether or not if these codes are already available to the Japanese players for purchasing or not. I mean if thats the case, how come they already have the option of buying them where as the rest of the world doesn't get that option till March 2nd, 2006 ?

CatHat: It would just be speculation on my part as to why the Japanese market would have it first. Not really my bag - international planning ect. Though all i can say is March 2nd isn't far off at all.

I do believe thats the night i'll be at the UO townhall gathering here at EA in a week or so

Player: 20 bucks is a rip-off. $4.99/max should be the price. Anything above that is just pure greed.

CatHat: I think its priced so only the people who really feel the NEED to do will do so. I could see if it was too cheap - folks being thieving scum - jacking over guilds, running scams, and then darting off for a cheap sex/name change to avoid reprisals - lol.

I dunno - at least its an option for the folks who previously had the only choice of starting a new character to alter gender/name.

I too think that it should be a $5 max.

I mean the reprisal thing doesnt really track...EA would have some kind of record of who had what name and when if someone was doing anything against ToS, no?

EA has a hard time tracking people who do things against the ToS as it is now... the thing is, im not sure people who are scum bags really see teh difference between 5-20 $$... just my opinion..

however, I think what he is saying here is that there would be no way to get the word out on a known scammer because it would be just to easy to continually change ones name and appearence...

I cant wait, itll be so much easyer than to call EA everytime. The only time i have to call EA is on the weekend, and thet're closed then.

This must be their semi-annual "expansion-like" scam on us. My god, its only been 6 months since they were able to mass charge their users...

I personally like my char names, so I wont be jumping on that wagon.

Just wait a bit, people will be buying up the tokens, and after a small bit, they will be really cheap on vendors. So my advice would be to wait the bad name out a bit longer..

I disagree, I think the pricing is fine. I'm part of the , if it's too cheap there will be problems crowd.

I can safely say I'll never use the sex change option, hell I wouldn't use it in real life. I'm married 31 years this April, I don't need to know what it's like to be a female, I live with one! :-P

I have one char on Siege I may change his name for vending purposes.

hehe...I still say we have it much better then other games. At least they are not pulling out 2 major $40 expansions, plus 3 other mini $25 expansions a year like some games!

As for the tokens...I'm alright with the price. Along with what CatHat and Silverfoot said...
It's not like everyone is going to want one of these...so let those who want it pay for it. I paid for a name change long ago...would have nice to have it in token form during that time!

Yah I would hate to be a new player to say.. EQ. you would end up having to buy like 20 expansions just to be uptodate with everyone out there. I am one of the people that will buy every UO expansion, just cause it is a hobby. Just like my Harley. I change pipes on it what seems to be like every 2 years, just because the next one sounds cooler than the last..

The response from Cathat does make sense and sounds like a resonable response. It is a tad high for a name/sex change, but I may. I will have to give it alot of thought before I do anything like this

I'm toying with changing the names of 2 of my characters. There is nothing really wrong with them, just wish I'd named them differently now. As far as the sex change tokens go, I have no need for them now. All my chars are currently female on my active account Now if I ever have the desire to reopen my second account there will be some changes made.

Hmmm, like, why would I want to anyway?

I mean, what would my name be anyway, Salom or something?

Just asking.
