Perfection system
taken from Thread :- Perfection systom found in UO.UHall
The main thing i want to know is about the luck, does it act just like luck you would find on armor? more importantly does it stack with the luck on your armor? ########################### it works the same and stacks ############################ It acts like luck on armor. It doesn't stack. The highest should apply, I believe. ############################ so does the two stack or no? maybe a dev can answer this one for us? ############################ It adds 100 luck per level, so yes it stacks. ########################### correct statement though perhaps taken out of context you could assume incorrectly. Yes it stacks per level, of perfection, which will give 1000 luck upon achieving perfection. I do not believe this stacks on top of the luck of the suit, which means I do not know. However, it has been recently stated there is no cap on luck, so it would be possible to stack on top of suit luck, but without a dev or official response, we cannot know for sure. ########################## Jeremy_EAMythic UO Community Coordinator OK, in this case our KB is correct - here is the article. Short answer - perfection does not affect luck at all. Leurocian checked the code on this - he was actually looking up the "does it stack" question, and when he got there, he saw that there was luck code, but it had been disabled - apparently, long and long ago. So I went looking, assuming this was a documentation issue - and I couldn't find any reference to perfection affecting luck at all. So, now I'm sort of confused. I will freely admit that the Samurai Empire era is one I'm weak on (I've been playing UO on and off since launch, and this was one of the more "off" than "on" periods) and I don't remember this issue one way or the other. Can anyone provide references to why everyone remembers the perfection = ++luck, and why people don't seem to be aware that that feature is not currently active? It may be there are bad docs out there I'm missing that would need to be updated. Or, it's possible that this was a feature that was only live in beta, and the notes indicating that it did not make it to live were not properly publicized. It's hard to tell at this point. ######################### I'm pretty sure in the SE manual it said that perfection also increased luck per level, and their was never any mention of it being disabled. ######################### Jeremy_EAMythic UO Community Coordinator Good catch - we dug out the SE manual, and here is what it says: "The higher your Perfection rating and the fame of the enemy, the more fame and fortune you receive upon the death of the enemy." ..which is totally misleading anyway, since it doesn't give more fame in any case and was never intended to. Damn marketing copy. *grumbles* ######################### Now I'm confused too!!! Oh well, I do just fine anyways with zero luck, and get plenty of drops. It's all good. ######################### so does this mean someone turned it off and is no longer affecting luck? ########################## Jeremy_EAMythic UO Community Coordinator Right, that means it's turned off and not affecting luck. Further, it appears that it was not affecting luck when the documentation was created, with the possible fuzzy exception of the SE manual. ######################### Any chance of turning it back on, even just on the TC? I'd love to see if there is a difference when I Acheive Perfection. ########################## i hope they would turn it on too, i was all happy here thinking i can achieve 2400 luck plus perfection lol ######################### Well this is certenly 5 on friday worthy i would say, hopfully they will see it and awnser the question for sure. it will tell me wether i should have luck on my archers armor or not...sure would be nice to know
