Original Blackrock supposed to be better?

source taken from
UOHall

I was under the impression that the origional blackrock was supposed to grant far better rewards than the large peices. I turned in the origional "a peice of blackrock" to recieve a wind's edge. Then i turned in 5 small peices to recieve diaymo's helm and peerless ingrediants and a +60 ash. I then turned in numerous large peices of blackrock netting me 3 agapite hammers. Shoudln't the origional peice have given me a much larger reward?

Wind's Edge seems to be a high tier reward for some reason.

From all the results I've seen so far, original pieces don't seem to give particularly better rewards than small pieces (but both give much higher tier rewards on average than large). However, I haven't seen many results of original pieces yet to gauge.

I think it is not ok, that these first tier things have a higher value in the return, since this chance could not be taken by the majority of players. On European shards late after midnight was the event run

Mmm, I know how the European shards generally feel about late night publishes, but I assure you there isn't any advantage to turning in your blackrock before someone else.

Although it was neat to see the Europa crowd revved up and ready to go!

Draconi, I think that Olahorand meant that the blackrock pillar event (when the original rare blackrock pieces were collected) was run late at night on european shards, when most european players were asleep...

Ah, right, that is true. The only thing I can say is that Felucca's went down later and when more people were awake. But now I totally understand, thanks for clarifying!
