Posted to UOHerald by Jeremy Dalberg
[15 Oct 2007 22:35:25 EST]

Origin will be published with the following during its next regular maintenance:

*NOTE* The Halloween event spawn will not be turned on with maintenance. That will be announced tomorrow.

* Gareth, the quest giver for the Cloak of Humility quest, was relocated to Trinsic

* Players that are logged in Magencia will be teleported safely to the Trinsic docks of their facet

* Players will be unable to gate, recall, or Sacred Journey to Magincia

* Fixed issue that caused the virtue set helm to reset its resists to the base values when the full suit was being worn.

* Fixed the bug where certain stealable items could not be locked down causing players to lose these items (Doom Artifacts)

* Fixed an issue where players were getting IGR timer errors and getting disconnected

* Players with bushido skill should now be able to bond with lesser hiryus.

* Added double dragon scale resources in Felucca. Siege ruleset shards do not benefit from this change.

* Oil cloth should now properly remove poison from weapons

* Newly spawned quest mobs can no longer be charmed with the
dryad allure spell.

* Made the firefields do more damage 5-7 instead of 3 damage

* Trick or Treating is back!

* Pumpkins are once again spawning in patches all over Britannia

* Boats abandoned in Magincia will randomly catch fire and sink if
no one is around

Re: Origin to be Published

Well, basically,its where kids dress up in scary Hallowe'en costume and visit peoples homes.They knock on the door,and call Trick or Treat.

Person answering the door usually has a 'treat for them .

Here is where the term originated from.

The history of "Trick'O'Treating" can be traced back to the early celebrations of All Soul's Day in Britain. The poor would go begging and the housewives would give them special treats called "soulcakes". This was called "going a-souling", and the "soulers" would promise to say a prayer for the dead.

Over time the custom changed and the town's children became the beggars. As they went from house to house they would be given apples, buns, and money.

During the Pioneer days of the American West, the housewives would give the children candy to keep from being tricked. The children would shout "Trick or Treat!".

In UO if you go up to any NPC and say 'Trick or treat' they will give you some candy/liquorice or they will trick you

Im not saying what they will do though *grins* .Thats for you to find out

Have fun

Is that it then....the long awaited KR Patch?
Nothing in there about client optimizations, artwork polishes etc, etc & so forth?

Doesnt even measure up to Jeremy's stated info on FoF:
We have a client patch scheduled to go out next week that is chock-full of bugfix goodness - including such irritating things as the whole client slowing down if you have your system chat window open, being completely unable to drop items on the ground in caves, and being unable to interrupt running macros.

It's not just KR bug fixes, either - everyone will rejoice to hear that the Doom lockdown bug is fixed in this patch as well, and Samurai should once again be able to bond with their beloved Hiryus, among other things. Keep an eye out for notes next week with all the details!

*sighs* Just a trinket run for Halloween it seems, with a couple of minor annoyances that have been with us for months taken care of.

And, I suppose, the next thing will be the Holiday Goodies, more trinkets...but no sign of anything substantial in getting KR any closer to where it needs to be.

Or maybe there's another Publish/Patch in the pipes for this week?
*decides not to hold his breath*

~~~~
No, this doesn't have anything to do with the KR patch.
~~~~

KR changes will be in the client patch, which is planned for Thursday (I believe)

This is for the live shards

The Hallowe'en Shard is a totally different thing .

The content listed above has only been published to Origin at the moment .

Origin gets all the new content first,where the players test it out for bugs etc,before it goes out to all the other shards

*UPDATE* posted to UOHerald by Jeremy Dalberg 16 Oct 2007 20:32:30 EST

Origin Event Schedule Update

EDITED: Origin won't be getting the event spawn until everyone else does - keep an eye on the Herald for scheduling. In the meantime, check out the pumpkin patches and go Trick or Treating, or continue to test the event on the Halloween 2007 shard!
