Origin to Receive Publish 41

Origin to Receive Publish 41	Jun 24 2006 1:44AM GMT (PST +08:00)
Saturday, June 24, 2006 at approximately 5:00AM PDT (Noon GMT) we will be deploying Publish 41 to the Origin shard. Note that this is the daily maintenance time for Origin. The update will contain the following changes: Personal Attendants - Herald, Fortune Teller, Lucky Dealer, Guide Miscellaneous bug and exploit fixes.

Played with each one so far for about 2 minutes each...

What I've learned (my opinions mostly).

Herald: Seems pretty decent, Good for RP purposes (if following) and probably good for PR purposes (left at home, vendor malls), has room to be expanded on and made more interesting (more lines, more options as to maybe yelling, whispering, *rummaging*, etc.)

Fortune Teller: A good waste of time, didn't see much use for this, maybe I missed something.

Lucky Dealer: A walking Dice & Cup with extra di (and more than 6 sided di), not impressive, maybe I missed something.

Guide: VERY good idea, pretty impressed, only thing that could be added to it is an option for towns to be entered instead of just shops in towns, has potential to be something special, they could expand on this by making NPCs work this way but with quests and events pop up while enroute, or even make it player enabled for RP purposes or leisure fun. Would be nice if given to all (Young) characters for a set amount of time/uses.

Does the attendant take up any follower slot?

When the attendant hearlder talks is there a spam situation?

Not in the brief stint I played with it. I chose one of each of the 3 options and only the first went off, when I first chose it. It didn't spam anything, even if I changed the first option. I think it works on a timer for any of it's "sayings"

I'll play with it some more later and keep this updated.

The personal attendant does not take any control slots. You cant dress or rename the personal attendant, but you can select male or female human. Nor can you tell the personal attendant what to say, you have to select from a list of options.

Noticed no spamming, but the text did seem to stay up there a bit longer than normal (I know you can adjust that, but it's longer than the default setting).

Yah, I can only see mass amounts of lag. I can see heavy pvp fighting areas with these things in tow, just to lag up everyone else. People are just like that....
