CatHat: Yes, it was intentionally done that way. It was designed so that a person could get a few fun freebies off of it each day they log on - not so that they'd let it sit all week unattended and harvest loads of goods piled up on the weekend.

Also, it's not intended to be used as a storage device like Bookshelves and Chests are. So don't expect to be able put all your other Regs in there.

It's decoration with a twist. Sculptures that spawn a few good things daily. We didnt want to make something where someone could easily fill a 3 story house with these items and farm up Regs once a week - further straining the economy.

Also, on the I couldn't help but laugh. Not to knock CatHat or anything, but I highly doubt 5-15 (unconfirmed, read 9-19 somewhere, but the exact number is insignificant) regs spit out daily out of 8 for a full week (or even a year) would be considered "loads of goods".

Now, I do like how they actually thought ahead with this and didn't want an issue come up with houses full of Cat Statues overflowing with regs, stop and think about the cost-effect of that would be. Paying RL $$$ (12 for $12.99 US) for something giving anywhere between 15-780gp, (unconfirmed, going off what I remember again) depending on if all 12 choices or just 1 were the statue, a day would take YEARS to go by before getting back your original investment back. (if you e-bayed the regs or sold regs and e-bayed the gold)

Limiting the regs to the low number which they have, and the randomness of it in itself is plenty enough to make sure no one is supplying vendors full of regs leaving npc bought regs a thing of the past or making a RL profit.

I just hope they take the same amount of time and thought they put into that into any new items created in the future.

That's what I figured.. I use regs (necro) only because running around in LRC is suicide on Siege. I was just curious cause I see brokers still sell bulk regs as do player vendors.

I still use regs on my mage. Not all the time mind you. When I am just shopping or wandering around, I use a LRC suit. But when I have another suit for hunting that I wear sometimes, with much better protection.

Or I wear half a LRC suit and carry some regs...that way I keep better resistances.

Yeah, I know of a couple that do that too. Your not alone Thradia, although I fall into the never used regs in my entire UO life as a mage category *ducks*

I have one 100% LRC suit on my main Mage: Snowy.... the others use partial or no LRC. Plus, I have an Alchemist and an Inscriptionist, so I use regs. I didn't expect the Cat statue to spit out enough regs to be even marginally helpful to my supply. It's hard to believe anyone would expect more than a token amount of regs, especially having had the example of the Fountain enhancing 10 bandages a day....

I wanted the Statue because it was really nice looking. I wish i could manage to set the basket on the spot of the Cat statue that is the bowl.. I just got it last night, and haven't had a chance to try that yet. But I bet it will look wonderful that way. Also can't decide if I want to dye it....am leaning toward leaving it natural though.

Most of my magery-using characters do not have full LRC suits, so yes, I carry reagents.

I have a LRC suit for ooc hunting,but when I rp my Mage we are not allowed magic armour/jewellry etc.so I go through a heap of reagents gating/healing and taking part in battles.

I use the 100 % LRC suit, and I have numerous sets. I only use regs when I am training my alchemy and inscription. What I need to do is find one of them protection suits, what are they called? 70's suit or something like that. Maybe even a LMC suit, just to try it out.

I use lrc on my mage, but never on my necro. Necro regs are so easy to collect i dont mind farming them :grin:

Think this idea with them bandies and this cat statue is a realy good idea. Nice thing to have and has no major impact on the game
