Unhappy Re: New Haven is really a haven for the young differing views]

Am I the only person who finds New Haven to be a cramped, hideous mish-mash of building styles?

Old Haven was a spacious little town, with the appearance of having grown organically around the imposing mansion and town square.

New Haven has the look of a town which was designed by someone whose brief was to include as many different wall / floor / roof tiles as possible in a small area.

Apart from the terrible graphics glitches, which I guess will be fixed in an upcoming publish, New Haven does not seem to be a stunning introduction to the world of UO for the genuine newcomers it is supposedly designed for. How much better it would look if there were a more unified building style - marble, planks, stone, brick, straw roofs, tiled roofs, and so on, all thrown together haphazardly do not make a town.

You have to remember New Haven was designed for new players. I know when I was new I hated having to walk all the way from the farming area up to the tailor to complete an escort. I believe they made it compact to solve such problems like this for newer players, plus, it's much easier for new players to find what they're looking for like blacksmiths, mages, etc... Yes its cramped, but it needs to be to help the new players in my opinion.

I think they also wanted to give it a hasty built look, because the old haven being destroyed they quickly built buildings to get started again.

It's a damn shame the dev's cant figure out someway to make all the towns in UO useful
