Mr Tact leaving.

I've done many things on UO in which I take great pride. I've also done some things that were horrible train wrecks that necessitated long hours of crunching to fix . . . but as they say, experience is what you get when you didn't get what you wanted. Truly, it has been a sublime experience, and I am grateful for the opportunity to work with so many fantastic people. I have learned an awful lot in seven and a half years.

It's gut-wrenching for me to leave right now. As I mentioned when I posted about moving back to Austin, it was difficult stepping out of a lead role on UO when (finally!) the future seems so bright. It's even harder to be leaving the team entirely with KR on the horizon, but when you get to be my age, you have to recognize that there are only a finite number of opportunities in life. When you have the chance to be employee #3 at an exciting startup, you have to seize it, because it might not come around again.

Thank you all, for your enthusiasm and support over the years, and for never letting me get away with doing a half-assed job.

Heh, he never published the new radar map he was working on since 2003. Can't leave till that's done.

Anyone remember his help during the log in glitches of, I believe, the SE launch? (or was it AOS??) We would get dropped in the water and unable to move....so he added a boat for our comfort.
