| More from Grimm on Art Changes Player: How about doing the work on one or two of the creatures at a time and show us both ingame and solo images of the creature. Then have the UHall run a poll showing the original vs the made over creature and if the made over creature gets a good showing, go ahead and maake the changes for that creature. Grimm: Well, normally I'm against this process, mostly because I can almost guarantee you that the numbers would be so close as to be a stalemate. I'm more inclined not to change (meaning remake) legacy creatures anyway, just because of the hassle involved. I just thought I'd take a poll to see where folks stand.
And in regards to reverting back the wraiths, unicorns, etc., reverting art assets isn't for me just as easy a swapping numbers as it is for players (as someone posted). I have to investigate reasons both technical and legal - then we have a whole QA process to go through. So don't count on this happening, but I will tell you I'm investigating the matter. Player: There's a lot of resistence to change even after people have said that the client graphics need updating, mainly due to not being able to see what we are going to and how it compares. Grimm: LOL. I've noticed. ;-)
Unfortunately, most of the time players (myself included) do not get previews of changes prior to them getting made in the games we play. There is a difference between being used to something, and actually liking it. I've run into this on a couple of occasions with City of Heroes. Some of the changes I didn't care for, but over time got used to them and now hardly notice (rock skin, for example). Transition can be a tough thing and I certainly understand. And then there are just some things that, for some reason work thier way into our hearts - much to the befuddlement of others.
But keep those suggestions coming. I really appreciate all the reponses!
Thanks,
