Player: One would think that Hide armor (elf armor) woud be medable, but I get the "could not penetrate your armor" message. I removed the Hide Tunic and was able to meditate. Confused, I assumed that Hide = Leather...

Niobe: Just for reference, here's how the new armor compares to other armor for med and stealth:

Leaf - equivalent to leather armor
Hide - equivalent to studded armor
wood - equivalent to plate armor

Explains a lot to me now

I feel awful because I'm sure on Atlantic I sold some meddable elf LRC suits, and I always thought hide armor was meddable (I think it was merth who informed me yesterday that it's not). If I included any hide armor in the suits, then they really weren't meddable suits.

Hopefully anyone buying the suits knew the difference. I know that doesn't make you feel any better. But we can still hope

I was pretty stumped when I got a piece of Hide Armor with the Mage Armor property doing Heartwood quests back at the ML release...I thought it was kind of silly to name it Hide if it wasnt going to be meddable. Maybe Rawhide wouldve sparked the difference for more people!

I just thought of hides from the olden days, where you would buy stacks of hides from the tanners to use to make leather armor. Hides = leather in my mind. Yeah, "rawhide" or something would have at least clued people in that they aren't NORMAL leather hides.
