Luck
taken from Thread :-Luck found in UO.UHall
Comment I am a bit confused on some things concerning wearing luck. I have heard rumors that no matter who kills or damages a creature, if someone with high luck opens the corpse, that persons luck is all that matters? This means no loot spawns on any creature before it is opened? Also, when partied the luck of the entire party is averaged correct? This means adding in players doing damage with 0 luck averages the 0s in too. I am not concerned with artie or mini artie drops. ############################ As far as luck in parties it's supposed to be the person with the highest luck who's luck is applied but that's only if the party doesn't break before the critter dies and that's also only as long as all people in party do at least 1/16th damage of the highest damager. (this is my understanding) I do not understand what happens when the party breaks or if the persons don't do enough damage. For instance if the person with 1400 luck just stands there and does not damage the creature his luck will not be appllied. (this can be proven by breaking party after the creature dies... that person will not be able to even loot) Perhaps someone like Leurocian can give us some depth into this. ############################ I believe the Arti and Mini-Arti drops were changed to the Tokuno-style of dropping, meaning that there is always a chance you will get the Arti so long as you did enough damage to a creature to recieve looting rights. This may not be implimented yet, but it was spoke of during the Reaper event that Doom and other instances of Arties would be converted to the Tokuno-style of Arti drop. From what I understand Doom was originally designed to take the luck of the highest damager, but the Tokuno-style of Arti drop constantly calculated your individual luck on a per-kill basis. So, higher luck meant that you are most likely recieving more points for killing a creature than someone with 0 luck and that would mean you have a better chance at getting an Arti. By "Arti drop" I mean the instances where the artifacts would pop into your backpack, not the loot thats on the corps itself. ############################ Leurocian Ultima Online Designer Luck comes into play the moment loot is generated on the corpse, and that would be upon death of the creature by the top attacker. Quote:
Some items such as gold, paragon chests, and other exceptions spawn at the time the creature spawns in the world. However, magic items spawn on death of the creature.
