There seems to be a ton of then out there , why dont we help out and come up with a list of items (please dont post how to make them) , to get these fixed and protect players from getting burned.
Things we know:
1. They are illegal.
2.May be removed at anytime without warning.3.Players Should not buy them, If you buy them and there removed its your fault.
4.Your accounts can be banned for making or owning them.

Why is this necessary? The quick rule of thumb is that if an item is valuable, it might be duped. The problem is that there is no reliable way to know if an item is duped. So, having a list to check is a waste of time.

Yes, if a vendor has multiples of every rare, then there is something fishy - most likely. But, as a player, we cannot determine if an item is duped by looking at it.

If it is known how many of an item were spawned and all of them are accounted for, and no others are popping up, it's a good guess that it hasn't been duped yet.

To make this more manageable, please start with just details about wearables created from the imprisoned dog. We've got a list of some of these items already from previous threads, but the more info the better.

Ando, is it plausible to call a GM when a duped item is found blatantly on a vendor? I have been thinking about calling one for a known popular place that out right has a bunch of obvious bad items for sale? Just wondering if this is a good route to go.

Thank you for asking, I know it seems like the right thing to do, however the GMs are not supporting items that were duplicated from the crystal dogs at this time. No calls are necessary. They are not supporting these items since the development team has plans to remove or alter the duplicated items in the future. Please know that ownership of these items is at your own risk.

I would personally ask them to stop selling these items immediately. If it continues you can simply change the contract to no longer renew. As the house owner you are responsible for the activities that take place in your house.

Since people are selling dupped items, that retain the normal item(s) ability and name. How will you be able to find the fakes amoung the real ones..

The development team is completely dropping the ball on these items. They have been around for much too long and there is no clear message as to what is going to happen to them. GMs say they are legal to own and sell, yet the assistant producer is here posting your account may be at risk for owning them.

Do you know how old this issue is? The FYI message was nearly 2 months ago. You can't even scroll back that far to read it.

The exact GM "tell" message sent by the GMs about these items is pretty close to what I just posted. I wanted to make sure that I was not posting anything different than what they were saying. Here it is:

Greetings, the item(s) you are inquiring about are not supported by Game Masters at this time. These items however are subject to change, and are not officially deemed legal by the development team. The development team may at anytime remove or alter the item(s) or any item(s) in game without prior warning to the community if deemed necessary. Please know that ownership of the item(s) is at your own risk. Thank you for your support and cooperation.

However I agree that we need to bump the post about these items. It should be visible to the current players as well. I'll see about getting this done.

I have recieved that tell message a few times now. Once for blood tiles, another for a parrot that didn't decay with a house. It means absolutely nothing.

I would also like to add while the development team is doing whatever they are doing (which is probably nothing), tons of these duped items are sold everyday on vendors and lots of people are wearing them. So good luck with pissing off lots of players when you finally get around to handling the matter. Heaven forbid the GM quene would have been a little bit longer if players could page to have the stuff deleted on sight. i]


WHY didn't you guys just disable or remove the crystal dogs until this was resolved? Why are you guys allowing all this duping to continue?

Because it has already been fixed. Dogs and any creature that mimics appearance should no longer be a source of duped items.

This is the wrong attitude. I expect more than a half assed reply from a GM when I call for a known problem. If you plan on deleating or altering the items in the future, fine, but why the hell can't GM's do anything about this now? Why give the salesman of these illegal items the oprotunity to bank on someones ignorance?
