I honestly don't know how the mods there have the patience or sanity to deal with the daily ......(damn the no swearing rule )....the daily XXXX on that forum.

People are so quick to criticise and condemn mods who delete/lock or move threads/posts, but to be honest, given the rowdy nature of that board, it's a wonder most haven't quit under stress, heh.

Given the amount of posts per day VS the number of allocated staff, I think they do an OK job
I sometimes wish they were stricter though on some of the repeat....annoyances.

So because the staff asks the U'Allers to ask questions, but the Five on Friday itself isn't specific to that tiny segment of people, the U'Allers are upset. However, if the U'Allers weren't asked to come up with questions, they'd still be fuming only then it would be the token "devs dont lissen devs if u dont lissen well all kwit all 395 ppl in my guilds well quit devs u must lissen devs..."

I also agree that Wilki does not have to be a playerbase punching bag. I wouldn't take the crap most people dish his way.

I do think the mods need to do something about the harshness, whether to edit some things and insert soft fluffy things, or just delete stuff, doesn't matter, just needs to be done.

And at that, I will not post any more comments towards mods anywhere.

Cause Trammel to shake from its very foundations as you publish the armagedon patch. Thats the patch where you allow us Reds to visit Trammel and make them forget about what they dont have and what they will never get.

Short-tempered? You have no clue how much he has to read a day, sometimes just to keep one's perspective on that side of the table, you have to come back with something like that. Let's be real. CatHat and the rest can really narrow in on what they choose to read and respond to, Wilki's job is a lot different. Comparing apples & oranges IMHO.

Not everyone reads Stratics, heck not everyone had a MYUO board account. If I remember we had about 25k MYUO board accounts, not even close to account numbers.

Agreed. Any PR position (like Wilki) has to deal with so much nonsense, you cant blame him a tiny bit of lashing out happens...

I personally have seen Wilki (and lately, any other EA reps candor for that mattter) to be a very positive influence on the things I have seen since I started back with AoS!

Were I in his position, I can tell you that the "short-tempered-ness" would reign in ways that Wilki has only thought of...and hasnt acted on because he is just too damn good at his job.

I've been tempted at posting on the stratics forums, but the majority of people there are just too rude and annoying that I choose not to associate myself with them. One of the main reasons I like uoforums is because the attitude is the exact opposite of stratics is. It's more personable, people know each other, there is mutual respect and friendlliness, and finally, rudeness is not tolerated.

I dont know why they just dont regulate those forums more thoroughly. I understand the large amounts of posts, but it doesn't seem that it's more than anything a few mods could handle. More than half the stuff ever posted on there would be deleted immediately if put up here at uoforums.

In any case, the only thing I use those forums now is to look up events and anyone who might be trading/selling items. Other than that, it provides no other use for me.
