Normally I don't complain about the 5 on Friday, but this time I just have to. Why are the Dev's answering questions that they've already answered? I mean, we all know to look at the Publish 43 listing to know what is coming and what is being changed, so why tell us what we can already see for ourselves? Answer some questions that we are actually asking, for the love of

God.

3 questions wasted on stuff that's already been said at least once, and 2 of these are already posted publicly in the patch notes. I find it silly that people are asking these questions for FoF considering the answer is posted 1 -3 links down from the FoF link lol

I really like question 5... honestly, that's the only question that even toches anything I wanted to read here.

Devs, could you please answer 3 more questions to compensate for the 3 that were already public knowledge?

That's nice and all Garaba, but why answer questions that were clearly "full" player base knowledge that is posted on the from page of uo.com? It's kinda of rediculous and redundant to answer those questions instead of any one of another questions.

I just joined stratics and where I goto school, I do not get the patch screen which means I don't get any of the news going on. I have to go home to get the patch and news on that screen. Now, I have stratics, which gives me all the information I am missing on the patch screen. So, personally I am glad they answered these questions, because I didn't know even though apparently everyone else did. So, just possibly more people miss out on the info then you think.

I would like to remind everyone that the Friday on Five is meant to answer questions and announce things for the entire player base, not just the people who read stratics. The players who may receive their news from the patch screen and who can not stand reading the forums. FoF is not just a place to answer questions posted in UO Hall.

Every time I read a post complaining about the FoF questions. I can not believe how selfish the community is being. This "satisfy me," "answer me," mentality like their concerns outweigh those of others.

An example like people who want an answer about duping. That answer would do nothing but harm the community, if it is premature. You would give time to the dupers to hide themselves or to unload what they may be still hoarding. And about the shrouds- the UO team already announced they are doing something about it. Any more info given may cause damage as the shrouds are unloaded on the masses in force or destroyed to cover up all evidence.

All the whining that has occured recently on the forums only make it a difficult place for developers to post. Why should the developers have to put up with all the insults and the flames every time they have an idea? Why can't everyone be courteous? This does not mean what posters have to say must be positive- they can be negative and even in disagreement, but should remain polite and courteous.

I believe if we all learn some internet manners and treated developers more like we would in real life, which is hopefully with a degree of respect and courtesy, then the developers would be more inclined to answer our questions and concerns.

I wonder why im not surprised that a Stratics employee would defend a EA employee ------ Please everyone remember to EA its a Job to Stratics its a Job the only people that actually care about the Game in regards to gameplay are the players.
Now i know someone is going to state that Stratics is Voluntary and that EA employees are players but this i will never believe --NOBODY DOES ANYTHING FOR FREE - they are either getting personal or monetary gains ---
If Ea insist that they need to use F0F to address questioned already answered elsewhere doesnt this speak to the communication process already in place? Why post information to places where by your own admittance people dont read or might miss?

Stratics is the official UO forums. We were told to ask questions here. If EA/UO doesn't like this setup, they could put their own forums back up and have the questions asked there. They could provide a better way to have the questions asked. A dedicated thread, e-mail. If they don't want it to be what everyone in U.Hall wants, then don't have us ask the questions here.

Unfortunatly, responding with sarcasm like Wilki does, only serves to irate the allready irate posters on Uhall....and that's one crowd that can get irate quite easily.

As for their responses, I think it's a given that at least one person is going to respond with rudeness on that forum.

I'm glad Wilki said that. UHallers seem to think they are the only ones who play, or at least the only ones who matter. They need to snap out of it.

But Wilki did hit the nail on the head, I don't go over "there" unless I have absolutely nothing else to do, this includes being bored with counting my breaths per second.

I do read the 5 on Fridays though, and that's about it.

Also, I will never assume another player knows what I know, even if they *should* know it.

I mean seriously, there are what 10-20 different posters (I know, I know, there's supposed to be 100's or 1000's, but I just didn't see that many different posters when I did read there primarily, and even less so now) there (probably some with alternates) and they think everything UO related has to be to their liking.

I hardly think that is an UO problem on just stratics, but a human problem!

Well, I'd like to point out that Wilki departed on a trip Thursday, and I'd be willing to bet that he had FoF done before he left, and it was simply posted on Friday, with no one on the dev team actually looking at the FoF thread. So this past week's FoF seemed to me an exercise in futility.

Too often FoF is used by the dev team to do announcements on event content or upcoming publishes, rather than answer questions concerning recurring or longstanding problems. Well, the uo.com homepage is where announcements of that sort belong, if you are going to solicit questions from the player base on the official UO forums, you should at least do them the courtesy of actually using their questions (perhaps even naming the person asking, so we know it's legit).

They've stated long ago when FoF started they have to be extremely picky on which questions they even ATTEMPT to answer for reasonings that make 100% sense.

What most people don't understand is they see most questions/posts/threads that are out there and they make replies to posts/in threads but don't answer the main questions, and also turn around and not answer those questions in FoF, because they can't.

I try to stay away from negative posts, they're bad for your health.

All I have to say is they don't even have to do these FoFs, heck they don't even have to talk to us. I have never seen a FoF where everyone is happy, no negative replies. You can never please everybody. If they decide to stop the FoF, they'd still be complaining.

Exactly, I garauntee if Wilki started a thread, and just said "Hi." someone would complain.
