Talking Inu,the life of UO and the purchase of Mythic......

The Inu quest has gotten the attention of many in the game and in the forum. In this quest the Armageddon spell has been mentioned in the story arc. This spell is a spell to end all spells right? What if this story arc was planned to be the "going away" present to UO players as the end of the story would have meant the end of UO?

Enter EA and the purchase of Mythic. The Inu quest was in hi gear and going along smoothly. News comes out that EA has bought Mythic and the Devs of UO stop the Inu quest cold? That seems odd to me. I mean, has the Devs of DAoC put any in game quests on hold simply because they were bought out? Not likely.

I read that Wilki states that UO Devs and Mystic/DAoC Devs will work closely for a while. This is nothing but good news for UO. I guess my question is this. Did we have a close call with seeing UO being shut down with the end of the Inu quest? Were we a couple of months away from getting an email that UO will shut down in less then 90 days?

I am not looking to start any rumors or anything. I was just curious.

Depends on if EA , wants to sink money into an old outdated game ( but has a long history) , or sink money into DOAC , where there graphics are more updated.
The one that throws a wrench in it is warhammer , considered EA / Mythics answer to WOW , and sounds like its gonna kick butt..

Nope - definately was NOT the shut down of UO.

The "Armageddon" spell and all of the classic Ultima lore stuff was part of the 'cliff hanger' of the story designed to keep you on edge - and then that conclusion got delayed. DOH. A thousand appologies for that.

Like Wilki said - whats happening right now is nothing but good news for UO and it's fans.

Think of it this way - we were expecting a suprise for the UO Devs - a cupcake to eat maybe - and instead we got a whole 3 teir wedding cake. Its going to just take us a while to sort things out is all.
