Having client issues since the patch?

Posted by Wilki at Stratics:
We've seen a few reports of client slowdowns, lag, animations not playing correctly, etc since the client patch on Monday. So far, we've been unable to reproduce these issues internally, even on low end machines and slower connections.

In an effort to help us identify the issue, can you please reply to this thread with the following information:

Laptop or Desktop?
Brand:
Model:
CPU (type and speed):
Memory:
Video Card:

Also, please provide a description of the issue(s) you are experiencing.

Thanks!

Re: Having client issues since the patch?

I know I have an HP with an AMD processor but I'm not sure of the specs. I have an extra hard drive my hubby put in out of my old computer and I don't know what that computer was either except that it too had and AMD processor (hubby really likes AMD over Pentium). Anyway, the only real lag I'm experiencing is when I recall or gate. I cast the spell and just stand there forever before I'm teleported to my location or before a gate appears. Also, many, many times I've gated and had to wait for the gate to appear I then cannot even use the gate because my spirit lacks cohesion

Desktop
Brand: Customized
Model: Customized
CPU (type and speed): Pentium 4 2.4Ghz
Memory: 1.5Gb of RAM
Video Card: Geforce 5200FX series 128Mb

My issues is when i logged onto one of my char and walked for 3 tiles and froze. Restarted the computer and its working fine until i logged off and logged back on with a different char, it takes about 2-3 minutes to connect and while its connecting, all i see is the connecting box and everything else is white...

Re: Having client issues since the patch?

POS all around, garbage processor(1.2 Ghz) backed with trash RAM (512mb) a decent but outdated (by todays standard) vid card (64mb) and a craptacular cable internet connection, biggest problem (minus lag) I've noticed since the patch, if I log out and leave the client running, come back in 20-30 minutes, the client locks up at the verification screen. (nothing else running in background besides ICQ)

Re: Having client issues since the patch?

It was doing that to me too. Did it maximize itself and go white? I logged off and left it at login screen, then was talking to someone on icq, and boom. screen went all white

Re: Having client issues since the patch?

We get the white screen a lot too when it's verifying the account... sometimes it takes little time and gets past that point, sometimes we have to stop it and start over.

Don't recall all the comp specs at the moment but its a basic, unmodified Compaq with @ 1.8GHz, 512MB Ram and 128MB shared video card.

Re: Having client issues since the patch?

Yeah, get the white screen, also when I close it out (mine never gets past that point no matter how long I wait) it says it isn't responding.
