Halloween 2007 Events Testing

Hello everyone, and welcome to our annual testing cycle for our Halloween events! Over the years we’ve had many an opportunity to capture your sweet tooths with tantalizing treats and shiver your spines with terrifying tricks, but this year, ah this year – we have something special indeed.

There will be an invasion, of course, and tricks and treats and all things between. There will be a Shard of the Dead, and live events on your own home shards. But beyond that, we’ve prepared something that will shake the foundations of Britannia to the very core. Hyperbole aside, we will place in your hands a task of momentous importance: one to lose at your shard’s peril.

But enough with words. Let the testing commence! Allow me to describe our initial slate of activities:

• “TC1” will be immediately renamed to “Halloween 2007” and published with our initial testing materials
• Daemon Invasion of Magincia
o Travel to Magincia by Moongate and other magical means will be disabled
o Players logging back into Magincia for the first time since the publish will be teleported to safety in Trinsic
o Travel to Magincia will only be available by ship, or by “sailing” with the military at the Trinsic docks to aid in the advancing invasion
o New monsters, new rewards
o There will not be a client publish until next week, please do not report “Cliloc” errors when text is missing
o There may be higher than usual lag in Magincia for the duration of our tests.

Count Draconula will be making appearances throughout the testing period, and also providing more information as testing advances.

Nice here to find out what everyone main shard is other than siege heh sorry and then work together is you all want and make some easy runs at it if not then also will help others get to know everyone around and some stuff making uoforum people deadly and stuff heh

*UPDATES* [ may contain spoilers,so dont read if you dont want to know ]

I lived in the forests north of the Compassion Shrine during the Candle of Love Quest. I could not recall to my home, I couldn't do ANYTHING at home due to the evil red critters that invaded the shrine...BUT I sure as heck did NOT complain! FUN FUN FUN!

Safety Teleportation:
* Players who log into Magincia for the first time after the publish will be teleported to Trinsic during the crisis
* Exceptions: Players logging into homes or onto boats will be left where they are
* Teleportation from Trinsic to Magincia is available at the Trinsic docks.

This is an event going to all production shards. The housing area north of the city is not part of the battleground, and monsters will respect boundaries unless provoked from within a home.

Draconi, if a thief is carrying sigils, I believe the only way they can get off and onto the island is through the moongate. They cannot recall or gate while carrying a sigil. Can you please confirm if they can carry a sigil onto a boat or use a teleporter? I am not sure that they can.



The Trinsic/Magincia boat teleporters will specifically enable Sigil transport

Is this Trammel only?? Would shut down factions if this is in Felucca.

This is Felucca also (currently only Trammel on Halloween 2007 during our initial stresstest).

The CoM base is specifically exempt from the invasion layout, and travel around the perimeter of the invasion will remain possible.
Recalling out of Magincia is not disabled, nor is gating *from* Magincia elsewhere.

Travel for non-magicians will be handled through the docks of Trinsic and Magincia.

However! Yes, this will certainly still impact faction gameplay. This is *definitely* the right thread for hashing out issues.

I got a question! So those traveling by their own boats... is there anything to keep the island from being blockaded off by boats left there? I could see our rp community really using this event for rp with pirates launching attacks on those traveling too, but won't be any fun if those traveling can't land due to boats left surrounding the shore.

We'll have some new tricks up our sleeves...
